I’m always grateful for people who drop suggestions in the comments of my videos…🙌🏽🙌🏽 I actually do look them up and do my research 🔬 to see if it’s some place I’d like! Someone mentioned @davescosmicsubs to me a little while ago and I was shocked when I realized I’ve never been! 🙀I’ve driven by the small sub shack in Emory Village countless times but never tried them…well I’m glad I finally dropped in this time! Heads up, they’ve got plenty of free parking but seating is limited to a small patio in front of the restaurant. While seating is short, the menu is LONG with tons of sandwich options for you, both hot 🥵 and 🥶cold! Interesting that they use shredded cheese on cold subs but cheese is cheese 🧀 when it’s done right, and they’ve got it right! My only criticism is that they should have mayo on their cold subs…they only seem to put it on their hot sandwiches, which is so weird to me. I’m telling you that original sub with added mayo was a GAME CHANGER. Also 9 bucks for a 8-inch sub isn’t that bad…makes for a good lunch! **I apologize for the yellow tint on the sandwiches in the video, I was sitting under a yellow tent🥴🤡⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #atlantafoodie #atlantarestaurants #foodie #atlantafood #goodeats #food #yelpatlanta #bestfoodatlanta #atlfood #foodieatl #atlantafoodies #atlantaofficeparties #atlantaparties #atlchef #atleats #atlantapopup #atlantaeats #atlfoodblogger #atlfoodie #eateratlanta

I don’t know where all these good reviews are coming from especially the most recent ones. The only reason this place had one star is because, the two staff members that I did converse with were pleasant. However, straight to the visit. Now straight of the bat...insane prices and let me tell you they don’t match the quality. You’d think if you pay minimum of $8 on a regular sized sub (all additions like drinks and chips are sold not as combos) you’d be getting better food but, whatever. We place our orders then go to the drinks and all of them were out or didn’t even fill up our cups half way then went out. Granted they told us the sprite was out but, if every other option is out as well then what’s the point of serving drinks?? The sweet tea was so sweet I literally had to get a water bottle to help me consume it. You may think I’m over exaggerating but, I’m serious!!! Then after notifying them that everything even the water dispenser was out...no one proceeded to change anything. So basically I paid for a drink that I didn’t even want. We ordered than we wait..wait and wait some more. Mind you WE WERE THE ONLY ONES THERE!!!! Not a soul besides the 3 people who came to pick up orders throughout the visit. Not even all at once all at separate times. We sat there for 25-30 minutes for 4 meals that tasted horrible. I went with my grandmother and two nephews. My grandmother got a Italian sub sandwich. I got a meatball sandwich and my nephews got the hot dogs that come with a little chili. All of the above was TERRIBLE!! My grandmother said her’s was okay. Not something she would eat again but, something she would eat because she spent money on it. My meatballs for my sub were decently sized but, barely seasoned and dry. The marinara sauce was few and bland. There wasn’t much cheese altogether and the bread was burnt and hard just like both of my my nephew’s hot dogs. I didn’t taste the hot dog itself because, i don’t eat nor like the way hot dogs taste. I however tasted the chilli that went into the hot dogs...canned, bland and left a horrible after taste. That’s just the food. The sitting area had cob webs in certain areas and a window was broken. It was also HOTTT!! Like I understand it’s a hot day but, it was an inside sitting area. They should try to get some type of cooling system. Also the chairs are on concrete. This wouldn’t normally be a problem if they actually had some type of rubber cushion on the bottom of the legs. It’s literally metal scraping against cement EVERYTIME you moved. Pulling in the seat, pulling out the seat and trying to scoot towards the table. They tried to fit so many chairs and tables in such a small place. My grandmother couldn’t even get out of her chair without knocking into the one in back of her. My grandmother isn’t a big woman either. How is anyone suppose to have a comfortable dining experience like that?? The funniest thing about this visit was that my grandmother and I both took menu to go and YELP about it later. On the menu it says that they choose the finest meats, cheeses and breads to make their meals. Well, that’s fine and all but if you have no clue what to do with it then it doesn’t matter what you buy especially if THIS is what...

My wife and I have passed by this place many times but it's usually too early in the morning, but today we drove by and they were open so we stopped in, this was during lunch hours, around 2pm on a Thursday (today).

This is a small cozy place with maybe 10 tables, with an ordering counter and the dining area is a small sunroom with windows that open.

They have a LARGE menu of subs/sandwiches; I think there are a total of 26 of which 13 or so that are usually served cold, and the rest served hot, but of course you can change any ingredient or temperature.

All of the ingredients were extremely fresh. I was feeling like having something with avocado on it, so the server suggested the "Grateful Dave", which has turkey, white shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato, alfalfa sprouts, avocados, jalapeños or banana peppers and "cosmic sauce" served on a hoagie roll. Mine was delicious. The cosmic sauce is some kind of mayo based (maybe) sauce with maybe a little horseradish sauce or some kind of relish - not sure but it tastes incredible! This sub is a MUST try if you are in the Decatur area, every mouthful was a garden of flavor to the pallette. I ate both portions and could have eaten another, even though I was gorged full.

My wife's was equally awesome, she had the Cosmic Dave, I believe; hers had prosciutto ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalapeño and the cosmic sauce, and it was also a mouthwatering treat.

We are going to stop by each time we can and walk our way thru the menu.

Glad we finally stopped here, the prices are CHEAP and the food...

I have been a long-time customer of Dave's and have previously loved their sandwiches. However, a recent experience with their customer service makes me never want to go back.

Recently, I ordered two sandwiches, chips, and two drinks to-go, paid at the counter and left a 20% tip, then found out that the drinks I had ordered were completely out at the fountain. When I pointed this out to the cashier and asked if I could be refunded the drinks since the ones I ordered were out, she said she didn't know how to process a refund.

She then asked the rest of the staff and no one knew how to do this simple process on the cash register.

So -- and here's what's truly baffling -- they directed me to "call the owner" to process the refund. They handed me a business card for the owner, and when I tried calling the number, it just rang once and then beeped. I don't even know if the message I tried to leave went through because I never heard back from anyone.

Bottom line: There are too many other places in Atlanta to go for lunch/sandwiches that actually care about their customers, and I'd rather give those other places that are a pleasant experience my business. I will not go back here again. Their sandwiches aren't put-up-with-bad-service good. (Also, yeah, I suppose that the cost of two drinks is not going to break the bank, but it's still frustrating to not have anyone even try and refund me... and it's weird that no one knows how to do that and that they just let me pay...
