If there was an option to rate zero stars or negative stars I most certainly would. My husband and I went to Josie‘s tonight for the very first time hoping for a good experience and good food. When we walked in there was only one table of guests which should’ve been our first indication that the food was awful. But we decided to stay anyway. Every surface in that restasticky and you could hear your shoes prying off of the floor with every step. At one point the waitress who was waiting on us walked off and commented to a fellow waitress that the floor with sticky instead of going and getting a mop and mopping the floor herself. My husband ordered a French dip sandwich with potato chips and a Caesar side salad. They were out of the Romain lettuce for the salad but we said it was OK for them to use iceberg. Not a big deal. The sandwich was very small but the flavor was fine. The chorizo stuffed mushrooms come through to a plate and they were killed but it was almost like they were soaking in water or maybe they were washed which is not something you’re supposed to do to mushrooms. It makes them chewy and the ones at Josie‘s have the texture of octopus. I ordered a falafel Gyro and it came with a strange orange sauce on top that I couldn’t figure out what it was. The inside of the falafel as you will see in the picture is filled with green. After trying the falafel it is either a lot of oregano which is what it tasted like to me or it could possibly be Italian seasoning which has no business being in a Mediterranean Falafel and they call themselves a Mediterranean restaurant. It was absolutely appalling. The food was so terrible that’s why I assume they don’t have any customers. At the end of our “meal” The waitress came over to ask if I needed a box since I had very clearly not eaten anything and instead of asking me if something was wrong with the food she assumed it was just fine and I wanted to take it home with me. I told her that I needed it taken off of the bill because it wasn’t good and I didn’t like it. She removed my entrée but doubled the price of our petite side salads. All the rest of the restaurants in that block were packed full of customers. We will...
Read moreFirst and last time. I chose to eat here because a friend recommended. The fish was very fishy like not fresh, the food was missing ingredients that was listed on the menu, like Brussel sprouts with out cheese and sitting in a liquid in the cast iron pan. No Sriracha or parmesan cheese just burned sprouts and cauliflower swimming in a watery liquid! The atmosphere was only seeing the staff Vaping in the kitchen area while cooking food un-gloved, just cutting up while blasting very loud vulgar rap music. The atmosphere was loud due to the staff only because, “We” were the only people dining! The kitchen radio was louder than the music in the restaurant. It appears there is no management due to employees lounging out front smoking too. Very disappointed considering the same owners of Shrimp McGees. We live in Decatur and enjoy date night but If I could I would give 0 stars. I hope we don’t have food poisoning from the fish tacos. I Don’t recommend this place...
Read moreSo I've been to many Mediterranean restaurants. This is not a Mediterranean menu. Especially the Sunday menu. I had the Josie's Benedict. It was supposed to have crab...I am NOT exaggerating when I say that it had less than a Tablespoon on it. It was cold, the potato's were old and cold, and we were there at noon. My egg was cold, my hollandaise was cold and my bread was cold. My husband had bacon egg and toast with potato's. It also was cold. My daughter had chicken fried chicken...it was good. The gravy that came with it was cold and the potato's were also cold. My GUESS is that they put gravy on her chicken, after requesting it on the side, and had to remake it. Which is why it took 45 minutes to get our food and the chicken was the only thing hot. I came to a Mediterranean restaurant for Mediterranean, and it's not. Oh yeah...the cinnamon...
