LawLers Barbecue — Restaurant in Decatur

The best place to eat in town! I have to say that the folks who work at Lawlers are some are the nicest people I've encountered. I have food allergies and needed to know about some ingredients and one of their staff spent around 10 minutes on the phone reading out ingredients to me patiently and kindly and I can't name one other place who has done that. When you're at the drive thru, they greet you with a smile and aren't in a hurry to get you though and when dining in they check on you and seem genuinely happy to know you're happy and to top it all off, their food is amazing and I can eat quite a few things there even being on a limited diet. We got take out. Place was empty when I walked in. Diner style tables weren't very clean. People in Alabama can't seem to find the garbage bins I guess. Having said that the food was great. Wife got some pulled pork thingy which she loved (as did our dog) and I got the loaded baked potato. OMG. That could NOT have been one potato. It was so large I'd say it was the size of 4 medium potatoes you'd get at a grocery store. I did my best to stuff it all in but left a few bites, which again our dog appreciated. We'd order take out there...

While they're bbq is not my favorite it is pretty good. The staff at their locations always seem very friendly and their restaurants are clean.

Edit Stopped by again 9-16-22,. Staff friendly, Restaurant clean, but the food is just not worth the money. Got the stuffed pork potato. This is the smallest bbq potato I've gotten at any bbq restaurant in N. Alabama and by the far the most expensive for what you get. The food is pretty good, just not worth the money. Other bbq places are $2-3 cheaper for a potato...
