Today was day 2 of the soft open for the new craft soup n sandwich shop in downtown Decatur near the transfer station ans US Post Office. Spread N Buns Craft Soups & Sandwiches was just about to wrap up their second day of operations when I wandered in. I love me some tomato basil soup. Now, this soup was indeed outstanding, but be forwarned... it DOES have some heat !! 🔥 🔥 🔥 🌶🌶. I paired this with their grilled cheese. I had pepper jack mixed with a Mexican white cheese (as they had run out of sharp cheddar for the day). I am not sure what the bread type is but it was pressed and delicious !! I washed it all down with fresh brewed ice tea Yum yum ! For the next little bit, they will be open 11am to 7pm Monday thru Saturday. Currently, the menu is very limited... yet not really since you can pick amongst different cheeses to customize any sandwich even now. And again, that tomato basil soup is fire ! Got a caprese sandwich, a grilled cheese and tomato soup combo, and an iced tea for around $30 and ate it in the park right across the street. You could taste how fresh both the vegetables and bread were on the caprese. Grilled cheese was of similar quality and you could choose from several cheeses which was nice. My favorite item was surprisingly the tomato soup, which was packed with flavor. The staff was also extremely friendly and food came out quickly.

Marcus has done something amazing with soup and sandwiches! The menu is fresh and exciting. Best gluten free bread I've ever eaten. Even on a hot day the Tomato Basil was popping with flavor. Located across the street from a nice little park. Serves Bfast all day and smoothies. Food was so good I didn't get pics .. this time. More reviews to follow.

Absolutely loved our first visit to Spread N Buns! This new downtown spot is charming and cozy, with indoor seating and TVs if you choose to dine in. We ordered to-go and were very impressed by the quality and creativity of the sandwiches.

I had the Mexican Toastie — a delicious combo of jalapeño cornbread, smoked gouda, chipotle aioli, chorizo crumbles, avocado slices, and queso fresco And my husband went with the Spreadano, made with naan, Dijon mustard, ham, pulled pork, Swiss cheese, and pickles. We absolutely loved them both.

We’re all about supporting local, and since we already love Smack'n Tacos, it’s no surprise this one will quickly become a new lunch favorite. Highly recommend...

I was so excited to see this business open and it has only exceeded my expectations in terms of flavor, service, and general environment! Everyone, from the workers to the owner, are so kind and involved. The food is amazing and they already have such unique flavors to try! My favorite things so far are the BLAT and Mexican Cheese Toastie, both I’ve ordered several times last week. I also love their specialty drinks and am obsessed with their infused pineapple passionfruit water and fresh squeezed OJ. Please, if you haven’t gone, do it. You will be so...
