Steak ’n Shake — Restaurant in Decatur

Absolutely horrible!!!!! If you're trying to use the rewards points that they give you when you use the steak n shake app to order and purchase your order I'd suggest going to Forsyth or Mt Zion. Actually, I'd recommend either one of them even if you're not using rewards points. First they took $5 from my rewards account and I never used it. I could see this in my rewards history and, after 2 different complaints, they gave me my $5 back. Then one day, when there was a heat advisory, I had a personal emergency and had no choice but to be out driving and remembered I had my $5 in rewards and I stopped at steakn shake on Pershing Rd so I could order the drink I desperately needed. A line began to form behind me while I waited for my order. One large coke. The cashier attempted to scan the qr code in my phone for my rewards but was taking problems. He got another employee to come help him but they couldn't get it to work either. When who I'm assuming in the manager came to the cash register she told me that I couldn't use my rewards because the large coke I had ordered cost less than $5.00. When I got home, insanely hot and thirsty, I looked on the app and found that it said that the rewards balance left after I paid for my order would remain in my account. To add insult to injury, I attempted to order 2 large drinks from the same store and was having issues getting the order to go through on the app. The total would now be more than $5 and I was going to pay the remaining balance with my debit card. It wouldn't go through, told me I had to wait 3 hours and try to order again. When I did as instructed my balance was gone. I had not ordered nor had I even left my house and they took my rewards balance. So far I have sent in my complaint twice and they have not given back the rewards they stole from me. They haven't even responded to my complaint. The manager has no clue what she's doing and her customer service is horrible, her employees are not properly trained thanks to her not knowing how to do her job or how to handle issues and I would not recommend this...

Buyer beware. went here at 10:30Pm and person who took the order was incredibly rude. We got to the window and he handed our order to the person that was in front of us. at this point the lady that got our order was behind us and she got out of her car and tried to hand the drive through worker our order and he told her to hand it to us. We asked him to remake it . The man refused to remake anything other than the fries and tried to convince us it would be fine. At this point we asked for a refund and he gave us more attitude. And huffed off to get the manager. They issued the refund and the manager offered to remake it we said okay.. They bring out the order and it was warm but then got our drinks wrong and we looked at the receipt and of course the drive through guy messed that up as well and gave a sweet tea instead of unsweet tea. I will never go back to this location and I hope all who reads this also rethink coming here. The only good thing I have to say was the manager was kind and helpful but that does that does not redeem the absolute incompetentce and attitude of the guy taking orders. Just because he would eat out of the trash that does not...

I sat in a booth for a long time playing single player board games to pass the time (Twin Stars from Button Shy Games). I was left to my own devices, just getting refills of my coffee and water as they became necessary. Eventually my dad came and met back up with me for lunch. Value for the money was great on their 4 for 4 menu.

I got a double cheeseburger with everything, two sides and a cookie. Dad got a similar meal. With drinks we ate for less than $12. I left a big tip as booth rental since somebody else could have eaten and left a tip in the time I occupied it, maybe a couple.

The burgers were excellent. I would happily eat that sandwich again right now and I just ate. The coleslaw is pleasantly spicy enough to be interesting. The applesauce is prepackaged Musselman's and good enough. I'm not that big a fan of applesauce but this was pretty tasty.

Recommended for a quick bite or a lingering dinner...
