First time dining here, we were expecting breakfast works be available (with Egg in the name), not the few nights they're open for dinner, it's just the dinner menu. They had a great selection of sandwiches and typical diner entrees. I recommend the catfish poboy, was probably the best piece of catfish I've had, even compared to a local catfish restaurant. Coffee was fresh and perfect, service was friendly, plenty of seating. I hope they keep up the evenings, wouldn't be upset if they offered limited breakfast items after 5pm though 😁

For a new restaurant, the breakfast food was surprisingly good. Decent serving sizes and not outrageously priced. The biscuits were tough but had good flavor. Gravy tasted well too. Veggie omelet was enjoyable. Orange juice was very good. The water was not appealing as you can taste the chemicals in it. I would encourage them to use a reverse osmosis system to make their water more enjoyable. The restaurant itself could use some upkeep and introduce aesthetics to the inside to keep the interior from looking so vague. Friendly staff

First time here and it was pretty decent, the only complaint was the food was kinda bland needed salt and pepper but overall it was a better option than some other places in Decatur. The chorizo skillet was good as well as the biscuits and gravy. All the food seemed fresh so that’s a plus. The staff was extremely friendly and inviting and helped us out by explaining the menu and offering her recommendations. I enjoy staff that take interest in their customers. We will definitely be returning here to try the lunch menu.

Really disappointed in our visit to The Western Egg. The service was incredibly slow, and the tables weren’t even stocked with the basics. On top of that, they’re using a shared bottle of syrup that gets passed around between tables — not exactly sanitary or thoughtful.

The wait time was horrendous, and during that wait we got to listen to the staff complain out loud about not knowing how to input tickets and how everything was “messed up.” Not the kind of atmosphere anyone wants to dine in.

To make it worse, they didn’t have three things we ordered: chocolate milk, country fried steak, and chicken and waffles. That’s a good chunk of the menu — gone. It’s clear the basics of restaurant management are missing here.

I had previously left a polite comment on one of their posts, voicing concern and letting them know I’d be back with a review. Instead of taking it as constructive feedback, they deleted the comment. So here it is.

I’ve already heard about people quitting due to how poorly the owners and managers treat the staff. That tracks with what we experienced.

Frankly, if this is the standard they’re bringing, they can pack up and head back to Gainesville — maybe people over there are more tolerant of bad food and rude service. But here in Decatur, we’re conservative folks. Pride in your work and treating people with respect isn’t optional. We expect better — and we deserve it.

The official Facebook also laugh reacted to my review on Facebook further highlighting their lack of competence and accountability. Truly a shame this is what the “new” restaurant is. This will be an expensive mistake opening here at this...

I have been here two times and have had two different experiences, the first time I went everything went smoothly we got our table ordered food and got it pretty quickly and the price was not too expensive for 2 adults and 2kids. The second time I went there we had to wait a little to be seated after we got our order taken but never got our food, we sat there for about over an hr wondering where our food was, the waiter would only say it's almost done, it's on its way but after that hour we were fed up with their lies, got up and left we were seeing other people who got there after us with their plates and eating before us and we did not like that. They told us that the system for placing order had gotten messed up and what not. We didn't believe them.. and well we dont plan on going ever...

Wanted to try the new place in town. The steak was bland and I asked for no pink. I could clearly see where they cut it three times to check the meat. The outside was correct but the rest of the streak was pink. The biscuits had an odd texture like they were microwaveable. I wanted to let the waitress know but was still going to pay for the food and just feed it to my dogs, but she wouldn't let me finish talking and stormed off, very rude of her! She finally came back and took my plate and said don't worry about it if your not happy we aren't going to make you pay for it. The eggs and hash browns were really good though. Still have the waitress a $10 tip because I believe in tipping! Unfortunately I will not be back. Very...
