I have gone to this motel off and on for at least 8 years or more, I have always paid $40 to stay there. The rooms are not that great but it will do if you just need a place to study or just a place to regroup for the night. I could not believe after all the years of going there and paying $40 per visit no matter if the room had single or double beds I only used one bed to sleep in. I stopped in at this place, was tired and was going to check in and go directly to bed because I had to work up on Oklahoma the next night. I pulled in and went inside to check in to one of the motel rooms. The man that I have seen for all the years that I came there told me all he had was a double bed and that it was $45 plus tax, news to me. I told the man ( not that $45 mattered) I have always paid $40 did you go up or something. The response given by the man or the owner was ( We have always had the $45 plus tax, but only charge $40 to get the customers to come back). I told the owner or man that I have been given a double bed room before and I never messed up the other bed just stayed in one bed and was only charged $40 before, he basically insinuated I was lying. I told the man it was not long ago I stay here and room 17 is a double bed and I was only charged $40 for that room, I know he was shocked at first, but still denied that it was true. I told him that I could show him records of where I only paid $40 and never have before paid the $45 plus tax ever since I came there. I am not griping about the $45 plus tax, it just the man just did not seem to want to give or take to the questions that I was talking to him about. I just felt that he was calling me a liar in a silent way. Please don't get me wrong there were no harsh words exchanged. I just said that I want be back, when I know good and well I have had a double bed there at Tele Star Motel and only paid $40. I just thank this guy was not telling the truth when he knew what I was talking about. I have stayed at other hotels and motels and had a double bed at the single bed price. I was not about to give into this man, when I know he knew that it is not a uncommon practice with Hotel or Motels to give double beds , when single bed are not available. I will not go back, be warned. I will say one more time, it is not about the money situation at all. This is about what I know from my past...

If you’re an enthusiast of the pre-1980 style motels, the Telstar won’t let you down!
Yes, it’s older and has its charm but it had plenty of hot water, just the right level of noise from the window unit and it’s clean. It’s not clean enough to eat off the floor but no bugs or stains.
The simple architectural layout with the conventional convenience of parking in front of your room is fantastic.
Your door unlocks with a sawtooth key mounted on a room number tag but (sadly) the room does not come with a rotary phone. The beds are not brand new but they’re not lumpy and seem mid-line for firmness.
The owner/desk attendant/housekeeper is very friendly and openly appreciates his customers.
Again, if you want new with zero charm, there’s plenty of franchises in the area you can reserve for a more...
Read moreWent to book a room, needed a double. He gave me the rate and I said okay can I see the room? And he said everything is new and nice don’t worry, I said no I’d like to see a room and make sure the bed is comfortable. He said no I’m not gonna go out there and show a room you can go somewhere else and slammed his little window thing. I said really dude? It’s not that uncommon to show a room what kind of customer service is this? That’s bulls**t and you know it. And he then flipped me off, and said here I show you, picked up his phone and called the cops. A man shouldn’t waste the time of the police on something like that anyway, I highly recommend staying...
