for a written test or road test today, when it's busy in can be hard on you, it will take time. they have a new system now with an app that you can download and when you get your number after you drive up nearby and as long as your paperwork that you would have had to show at the front desk has been seen and checked in, you can then go about on the sidewalk and get a hot dog or something and then you're given an estimate of when your number might be called based on how fast the lines go and generally speaking near only in back in there waiting about 5 to 15 minutes once your number is estimated. not winning numbers, make sure you get back there because sometimes you can be called in about five times and then it'll disappear from the queue and go back in the queue by whole line set. if they have five lanes open you'll be recued to wait six more turns if you missed your number call. you can figure about 5 to 20 minutes 5 counters open so about 5 minutes for a counterweight generally that's somebody showing their information handing their drivers license over cuz you won't get your new one until you pass your written test or your hand or your driver test (behind the scenes, as long as you were insured, you are temporary issued a permit to take your driving test while not on a driver's license even though you currently are able to drive on your current license while taking the driver test they have it back in the office and won't give it back to you until the tester turned in your paperwork and you've passed).
the electronically temporarily issued permit to drive for a driving test when your physical license is being held in the DMV building until after you've passed your test, serves as a valid driving privilege for the purposes of the test because you can be pulled over during a driver's test but it is not an automatic fail as long as you don't get a ticket from the pull over this is rare but it has happened usually it would be a fluke let's say your tester inspects your vehicle for all working lighting and you get in your car and as you're driving all of a sudden one of your headlights or taillights goes out let's say for instance it's raining your wipers are on but only one headlight is working in the office or she's this will pull you over and give you a warning either verbally or written but this will not affect your passing the test.
in that instance of a fluke pull over if you fail to pull over to let the officer by or pull you over or if you fail to follow proper instructions given to you such as registration insurance and license you could fail your test. Dorchester will hand you the sheet of paper which is your temporarily issued driver's license for purposes of having a valid driver's license officers know what this is. this is new in Illinois.
if you are only renewing your registration, that's the stickers that go on your license plate, very short line sometimes no line at all and the longest I've ever seen that line over the years is about 8 people long, they will have two registers open and it's pretty much yet they don't check anything they don't check your insurance they just have the the old registration they Don't really check your driver's license at all they might randomly ask for for something but pretty much it's you got a credit card you're going to pay a little extra or if you have cash and you're on your way and you're done. figured about 1 minute per person in line is the...
Read moreIn the past I used to have problems with this McDonald's location making small mistakes in my orders, from time to time. In the last four years, I haven't had a single problem with my orders. The quality of the food, the quality of the service, the speed of the service, and the cleanliness & maintenance of the restaurant makes this my personal favorite McDonald's restaurant in the area.
It's easy to get in and out of this location, with the main entrance/exit on Waukegan. It features two lanes in, two lanes out, and easy turn-about, and a timed traffic light. You can also exit through the neighboring Bank lot onto southbound Waukegan. There's a lesser-known additional entrance/exit on westbound Lake Cook in front of the Luna. There is plenty of parking around the McDonald's restaurant, including a second lot that's better suited for eating in your car. The lots are all well-lit, regularly patrolled by Deerfield police, have plenty of garbage cans, are nicely landscaped, and actually features some wildlife (there are several grey and black squirrels that live in the trees, and a number of birds who regularly stop here).
Their lit menu screens are very easy to read, the speakers are very loud & clear, and I appreciate the screens help ensure they get your order correct. Their drive-thru staff are excellent - super fast, and always seem to get my orders right. If you do the online orders through the McDonald's app, there are 4 parking spots at the southeast end of the loop for pickups. You can also pick up through the drive-thru lane. I heartily recommend using their app to order, as its really easy to customize your order and they always have superior app-only special deals. They bring out your order just as quick as if you went through the drive-thru, and it's probably less prone to mistake if you put in a complicated order.
The restaurant itself is fairly large, with a nice dining area that was renovated in 2022. There's plenty of seating, in numerous sections, suited either for individuals or large groups. Everything is nicely lit with overhead lights, as well as big windows offering natural lighting in the daytime. The whole restaurant is kept meticulously clean, even after the lunch rush, and the bathrooms are top-notch. They have bright video menu boards and interactive kiosks, making it easy to browse. Their drink fountain features a consistently good syrup mix, with adequate-to-good carbonation.
In pretty much every regard, this is one of the nicest McDonald's restaurants in the area. It's still a McDonald's; there are no Michelin stars, you're not gonna get a gourmet-anything here, and it's probably not healthy to eat here too often. I mean, c'mon... It's McDonald's. However; grading against realistic expectations of a McDonald's restaurant, and comparing it to the other locations in the area, this is definitely one of the really GOOD McDonald's. Be sure to check their app for special deals...
Read moreThe five star rating I give to this McDonald's is not given lightly; almost any other macro fast food joint would top out at 3 stars maximum.
However, this McDonald's, in particular, exemplifies exactly how things should be done in the realm of rapid fast food locales ( this excludes places like Portillos and Culver's)
Anyway, since I have already exceeded the word counts of Abraham Lincoln's 2nd Inaugural and Gettysburg speeches combined, I will just list why this McDonald's is the cream of the iceberg going out on a third date.
Clean and efficient
The decor is tasteful, not tacky, warm and inviting. Unlike, let's say, the Rock and Roll McDonald's downtown, or the one in Time Square, the location of this particular McDonald's offers little more than a convenient stop off a pretty busy intersection in the burbs. It, nonetheless, retains destination status because it provides the ambience of a well run family owned restaurant and not just another smelly and crowded McDonald's.
Full disclosure-- I mostly use the drive thru at this location, which brings me to my next point: This is a very efficiently run establishment, which does not suffer frequent hiccups when the drive through line is more than five deep. Most McDonald's are very efficiently run, I'll concede.
What really sets this place apart, in my humble fat midwesterner perspective, is the temperature at which the food is delivered.
French fries and chicken nuggets are always piping hot, with no exceptions. McDonalds food, in my view, experiences and increasing level of taste decay as the temperature of their food rises.
The spectacular fries and McNuggets at this location help one to understand why one continues to consume this nutriciously bereft fare, which combines with the full knowledge of the downward gastrointestinal as well as emotional sides effects that go hand in hand, with yet another trip to Micky-Dees.
Anything to get the kids to settle down and desist their continuous nagging. Am I right? The sacrifice of small portions of mine, as well as the kids, health and we'll being-- for just several moments of peace before hopping right back on the wagon that is child and teen rendering in the modern and rapid...
