Well, I finally tried the place. As a local, we wanted to try sooner, but have not had the opportunity to until today. They sure didn't disappoint at all, glad i went. 1. Food: I was pleasantly surprised by the authentic taste. The food was very fresh. I had the Strawberry and Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish. They have breakfast and lunch options. Also, the coffee is one of my favorites Amavide Coffee from 30a. 2. Price: Very fair for the portions you received. 3. Staff: Was excellent and very friendly. They definitely took care of me, offered all options. 4. Parking: Plenty of parking on street near and in front restaurant. 5. Atmosphere: very cool and low keyed. If you need a place to work remote, this place can for sure be the place. 6: Hours Of Operations: 7 days a week. 7am central to 4pm central Yes, I recommend this place to friends and family and yes I will be back! I hate to leave a bad review of this place. I go here at least 1x a week, sometimes 3. I drive an hour to get here. I love the chai tea, pastries, and ambience. The last 3xs I got food instead of pastries, and it was terrible. The breakfast is the worst. The bacon is never cooked. I mean not in the slightest. There’s zero seasoning in the bowl or burrito. The grilled cheese had burnt cheese in the inside. I have no idea how that even happens. Each of these things I got to go and ate on the road. Big mistake. I should have checked them first. The other thing, the people that work here are not happy to be here, so it seems. I’ve never seen a smile or a thank you. Another reviewer had it spot on about the resting face…I wanna live this place so much, but it gets worse every time I go. Sadly I will not make the drive anymore. Total waste of money. The last 2 coupons I had from gaining points, the employees told me it doesn’t show up. I showed them on my app, but they told me I couldn’t use it unless it showed up for them. I contacted cash app and they said everything was fine on their end. I think the employees just don’t want you to use them. Pic is of last Sunday’s bowl 👎🏻

Heavenly Baked Goods, Perfect Coffee, and a Fun Mimosa Twist! Perla Baking Co. is a total gem in DeFuniak Springs! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the sweet aroma of fresh-baked goodness and the cozy charm of a truly special café. The baked goods are absolutely scrumptious—every pastry is beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. You can taste the care and quality in every bite. Whether it’s a fruit danish, croissant, or scone, you really can’t go wrong. I ordered a cappuccino and it was perfectly made—smooth, rich, and just the right amount of foam. It paired wonderfully with my pastry and made for a fantastic morning treat. And if you’re in the mood for something a little more fun, don’t miss the mimosa option! It’s a bright and bubbly way to elevate your brunch game. Perla is everything a great bakery and café should be—welcoming, delicious, and always a reason to come back. Highly recommend!

This is a cute place in downtown Defuniak. I live a few towns over but have been in the area for work. A friend told me to stop by here and do I did, twice. My first experience was mediocre. The atmosphere was great. I ordered food Togo and got a Cobb salad. It was okay. Definitely not worth the cost. The girl who took my order was pleasant but they weren’t exactly rushing to get people their orders. Yesterday I decided to give them another try I ordered and a group of 4 had just ordered before me. There were 3 ladies working. One preparing food and I’m not exactly sure what all the other two were doing. After a few minutes of not being greeted and standing at the counter, someone took my order. A few minutes later a phone call for a Togo order came in. No one else was in the store or had ordered during this time. Approximately 20 minutes later the gentleman came in and received his food. I suppose they accidentally forgot about my order so one of the girls asked the person preparing food where the salad was( my salad). The quietly spoke back and forth and finished the gentleman’s order then started preparing my order. Finally, my food was given to me. No apology for the wait or anything. I can’t believe this place has the audacity to ask for a tip as they don’t serve you at a table, their service is subpar, and so is the food. Maybe their pastries/baked goods are really good (they look good). I’m not sure I’ll be going back. I can get a better salad and quicker service at Zaxbys for nearly...
