Update September 2024: While I still feel the same way about this place, I will say, their beans are seasoned very well, but they’re like water!! Literal liquid. I come from a Mexican family, and runny beans are normal, but dang! This place takes it up a notch to the point when I return home the beans from my burrito are completely drizzled all over the rice and burrito itself!! I’d still order from here and be happy eating it though.
Update May 2024: Because their beans are the best beans I ever had I will keep coming. I can handle the chicken on the burrito being a tad bit plain. They have very fair prices! I’ve tried 3 local top rated Mexican joints and this is the one I have decided to settle on. It still doesn’t beat jaliscos tacos autenticos in Aurora, but I’m Not making that drive everyday for a burrito lol.
Old review: This is the plainest chicken I have ever tasted let alone from a Mexican joint. It’s like they boiled plain chicken or maybe even chicken from a can and placed it in a burrito. Where the tomato sauce and spices at?! Still edible. The Beans and rice are top notch. I could’ve made...
Read moreBy far the best mexican food in the area commonly known as DeKalb. When I went there I did not know what to expect, I heard it was good and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is nice, there is a good amount of seating and the joint is very clean. Service was prompt and the food took longer than expected. This was a good thing as when it came to the table it was amazing. I had the pastor torta, the best I've had. This place is the real deal. If you want a good meal go to this place. The other options for this style of mexican place in the area are burritoville, total rubbish not even good when drunk and not worth your time, and el burrito loco which is pretty good but no where near tacos salsas y carnitas (TSC). Just go to TSC, you...
Read moreWent in for my first time cause of Yelp and Google reviews. Ordered 3 tacos, 1 burrito, and fries. Tacos were okay (lettuce, tomato, beef, onion), shells were soft, but tasted off (don't eat them cold). The burrito was regular (with re-fried beans), with cheese and salsa. No salsa, burrito was SUPER greasy, no beans or salsa was added to burrito. They didn't give me any fries (even though they took my ticket, CLEARLY with FRIES on it), and because I didn't get a receipt I couldn't confirm I had paid for the fries or not (my fault). The salsa the gave on the side was nothing but hot sauce... No veggies, runny, and bland.
I will never...
