The store sign says open 12:30pm-closed when we're tired however I went serval times during the week day around 2pm and the store was not open. In addition the LED GAMES sign on the inside of the store stays on even when they're closed so you can't tell if its open until you go up towards the door, this is of course very unprofessional.
They mainly focus on magic the gathering and do not sell pokemon singles but still have pokemon sealed product. When I asked the owner working behind the counter at the time about more desirable pokemon products that he had at another location he said "I don't usually have those at this location because most of the time we just have broke college kids come in and buy one or two packs". When I brought in some pokemon cards I was willing to sell he was annoyed when I asked him about the condition of a few cards saying that I should learn to grade the cards myself as he didn't want to evaluate them. When he did evaluate a prized card of mine he said it was medium played when later on other officials that work in the hobby told me it was near mint.
Finally something that really disappointed me is the first time I ever walked into the store I found the owner full on yelling at his employees about how their living conditions shouldn't interfere with their work schedule and performance, then proceeded to threatened to fire some employees while I was clearly in the store and proceeded to crew them out for several more minutes while I was in the store. The context of the comments made are of course none of my business however how someone treats their employees is and it is clear that the owner has anger issues that need to be resolved or he does not value his employees at all.
With everything mentioned above I would not recommend supporting this business even though their prices are sometimes cheaper that msrp as I cannot stand owners that conduct themselves and their business...
Read moreBought an Imperial Knight Dominus box as I am just getting into the hobby. Didnt realize that almost all Warhammer products come wrapped in plastic and the box was compromised. Got into building the set 2/3 of the way only to find a piece was cut out A33 (a small piece for a mounted gun). Can’t finish the model without it, and was CLEARLY CUT with a knife by a hobbyist prior to my purchase.
I can only assume that one of the display models at the store required a replacement piece and my box was put back on the shelf like none the wiser. It’s sad because I just moved to the area and was looking forward to building a report with the local shop for my hobbyist needs.
I tried to then call for assistance, got nothing but a phone ringing off the hook with no answering machine or way of leaving return contact information. I then tried to call later at which the phone was clearly taken off the hook and disconnected after trying to get in touch with them. My wife even tried to call later that day as well, only to have the same issue.
We went to the store then to ask if the owner was around, to which one of the many lazy, begrudgingly “working” there employees said he wasn’t available or around.
At this point I would go to Games Workshop themselves for my non-shamming gaming needs. I’d rather wait longer for a shipment from another hobby store than deal with a store that possesses zero integrity. It’s places like this that give people getting into such hobbies a bad impression or scares them away.
Utterly...
Read moreTLDR owner is a nice guy and they have a great gaming space. Don’t expect the employees to be helpful or courteous
I walked in last night to a bunch of people sitting at the tables, waited at the counter for an employee for a few minutes, no one greeted me or asked if I needed anything so I looked downstairs for someone. Nada, I thought to myself, “maybe they were in the restroom.” So I waited by the counter a bit more. Finally one of the people at the table “greets” me with this angry look on their face. I ask where the binders are and they point to a corner of the store with a bunch of junk piled up around it. There were 3 overpriced cheap accordion binders hanging behind all the stuff piled up in the corner. I wasn’t going to buy those so I asked about magnetic deck boxes. Finally the employee gets up. They didn’t have those, ok fine. I asked for art sleeves, out of those as well. That’s when someone walks in from outside and walks behind the counter, grabs something and leaves. I don’t know who that was or if the place just got robbed but no one said anything about it. I’ve been going to that store since Bear owned it for tournaments and games but I don’t think I’ll...
