I absolutely love Chicken Express! There is not one anywhere near where I live in Fort Smith. So when I go to my brother's house, just around the corner, I always TRY to go. For the past couple of months it has been awful to actually get food from there! I've left a couple of times from the driv-thru and the counter because the wait was so long. The next day, Wednesday, the drive-thru was backed up to the entrance so I parked and tried to go inside. There was a sign on the door that said the lobby was closed due to being short handed. So I left.
On Thursday returned. The lobby was open and there were only 2 people there. One was waiting, the other was leaving and I was the only one at the counter. I waited 7 minutes for someone to acknowledge I was standing there; and it was the cook who let someone know. A very nice woman who's English wasn't very understandable, finally came to the counter. I ordered 2 thighs and fries. That's it. They had a ton of chicken up and I specifically asked her if there was a wait.
After a couple of minutes I watched the very nice employee put 2 thighs in a box on the prep bar and left to go to the side where the fries were but my actual view was obstructed and I couldn't see what she was doing. I figured she was getting fries.
About 8 minutes later the employee finally returned to the front. After several attempts I finally got her attention and asked her about my order. She panicked, went to the box I had assumed was mine and took it to put fries in it. I was so upset about the wait, I took my sack of food and left. I drove to my brother's house and opened the box. The chicken that sat up on the prep bar was overcooked or had been under the headlamps for a while because the outer layer of meat on both pieces had the unchewable, hard pieces at their edges. The skin was so tough I couldn't tear it apart much less eat it. There was very little coating on one piece and virtually none on the other. No, I didn't call or go back. I got take out because I wanted to go home. I just won't visit or recommend...
Read moreWe purchased 2, 18 packs of gizzards, and had to wait 20 mins. We are used to waiting for them though, however, when we got home one of the packs only had 7 in it. I immediately called to see how we could resolve it, while my family went ahead and started eating the rest of the food while it was hot. The first manager we talked to said to come on over and they would get us the food we were missing. Then a few minutes, I get a call back saying the other manager Alex, requested I bring the box back. My husband had already started eating while the food was hot. She got on the phone with me and told me I would need to bring the box with me to prove it. (Not sure why they would think I would drive home, and drive all the way back so I could eat cold food if they hadnt forgot some of our food) Anyway, she said she would then have to review the camera to see if they had got it wrong. Seriously? I'm tired of paying my hard earned money to not get the food I paid for. Mistakes happen, I called and was very polite and was going to come back and get it. Now i will never go back. Alex was so rude, and said she personally counted them and put them in the box. All the boxes are the same, isn't it somehow possible that it got mixed up. I hope she was happy with her counting and how rude she was to me. I had to eat cold food after I returned home. I will never spend money there again. When I returned, she wouldn't even come and talk to me, or apologize. She sent the other manager. He was very nice! I could see her individually over there counting...
Read moreThis was an absolutely horrific experience. They got my order incorrect, the lady at the window was missing teeth and could barely understand english. I don’t know if it was a language barrier, or she has zero customer service training, but if I could give her negative stars I would. I want to believe it was a language barrier, but seeing as how she was so rude I simply don’t think it was. I was getting food for two people, so I asked if I could get a water. She asked me what size, and I asked whatever was free. She looked at me, said “FREE???” and started laughing. She proceeded to tell me it would be $2 for a water, which is absolutely absurd in my opinion. I then asked for sauces, whereas she told me sauces would be $1 per cup and rolled her eyes. When I asked for a list of sauces, she let out an exasperated sigh, slammed the window door shut, and aggressively pointed at the sauce list on the window. I politely refused, because I no longer wanted to give them my money if ANY of it would be going to her. I went to oncue next door and got FREE water and sauces, and began eating my food. The chicken was undercooked and chewy, but somehow still dried out. They gave me the wrong sides, and shorted me a whole chicken finger. I was unable to eat any of my food, basically throwing $20 out the window. I would never come here again even if my life depended on it. Terrible food and even worse employees. Cannot say enough bad things about it! DON’T COME HERE OR GIVE THEM ANY BUSINESS! GO...
