Look, this is a nice spot…They have some nice croissants - good Indian tea…but WOW! 🤯 The staff is so hit or miss! Sometimes seeming high and confused-sometimes super sweet and capable-and then last time, this lady was just out of the world with attitude!!! I ordered and asked a question and she couldn’t have seemed more annoyed. I literally apologize to her for disturbing her super important cashier doing day, and she actually just said” oh that’s OK.” As if I could’ve been serious in my apology. How did people become so out of touch? And how did they all get a job here?
Not just this place, but so many places in San Diego have staff that Are acting so entitled and like it’s your privilege that they came to work today. Unfortunately, for this joint, it seems like every time I go here the staff is somehow weird. This lady with the glasses on and her comfy little cozy little chubby little self was just ridiculously out of touch with the connection that she could’ve otherwise made to a valuable customer. We buy a bunch of stuff here. I think I’ll avoid it in the future and find a better place. Not that the product is all bad, but it’s not fabulous anymore either.
It’s sad when a staff member just kills it for a business, but the business is also need to be on point understanding that out here as consumers times are tough and buying things that we don’t need is definitely a luxury. Staff has to understand that just because we can come in and drop 100 bucks on things we don’t need doesn’t mean we have money pouring out of our toenails and that it’s OK for them to just walk all over our Customer care because they somehow feel like, I don’t know, like there’s anywhere else I’d rather be?
Sorry that this spot gets all this dumped on them. It’s just that every single time I come here it’s like having a personality disorder person Wait on me. I don’t even know what wait on these means, but I feel like when I go here I’m the one that works there and is putting up with the bad attitude of . It’s just ridiculous And it makes the customers feel disconnected, unwanted, like a burden, and as if being a customer is somehow now not...
Read moreThe Tuna Sandwich is truly amazing. It has some unique ingredients, like Manchego Cheese, and the most delicious bread. It was one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten! The Avocado sandwich was delicious too. It has Gruyere cheese and is full of flavor. I had them add tuna one day, and that was delicious too.
The Valencia Mocha has a touch of orange. Yum. I have had it both hot and iced. Both are so good, so I just love the coffee here. The Mocha with Vanilla is amazing too. And, the Almond Croissant was heavenly. And the fresh squeezed orange juice is wonderful!
A local surfer said I 'had' to try this place. That is always a great sign, I think. He was so right. And, he also said I 'had' to try the Peach Delight Bar because it was delicious. Right again.
There is a nice patio area to sit outside and glimpse the ocean. The seating and decor is very simple and unpretentious. I like that.
They have been out of the focaccia bread for sandwiches occasionally. I guess I do love that it is made fresh, so that will happen.
They are making some excellent food here! The staff has been a delight; so cheerful and helpful. This is my favorite French bakery...
Read moreI love French pastries and so when I first came across the bakery I was thrilled. I was a little disappointed because it is on the pricier side though the location is nice - the tables outside gives you an ocean view. Staff can be friendlier but seems to have a high turnover. One time, I ordered a few pastries with the focaccia bread and they didn’t even offer a bag until I asked and the cashier just put it on the counter. I was shocked at the lack of customer service. Of course another time, another cashier was friendlier and put things in a bag without asking. I go there almost weekly so it’d be nice if staff was friendlier. However, it is dog friendly, we usually go after a visit to the Dog Beach. The coffee is nothing to write home about - tastes like watered down coffee. The Indian Chai latte is not consistent - depends on who is making it. The pastries are decent. Their croissants and Pain au Chocolat are good. The pastries are over priced but it’s Del Mar. It’s worth stopping by if you are strolling around the area and need a little break since there are not many coffee shops nearby. I’d give this...
