Went out for breakfast @ Edie Mae's with 6 others & As soon as we picked our table & sat down, The waitress was promptly at our table, very friendly, asking us if we were interested in ice water , Coffee, Hot Chocolate, or anything else to drink. We all agreed to ice water & 4 of us ordered coffee, & 3 of us ordered hot chocolate. The coffee drinkers were all asked if they wanted cream & sugar with their coffee & 2 wanted coffee black with sugar & 1 wanted cream & sugar & added Extra cream & sugar also please since I use more then most. The waitress asked the 3 if they were interested in whip cream in their hot chocolate & all replied yes. The waitress observed that we were thirsty & also asked if any of us wanted more water & we all replied Yes. She said she be right back in a min or 2 with our menus & beverages with a smile & friendly voice & stopped at 2 other tables to take bev orders on her way towards the kitchen & filled 4 trays up quickly & picked up a stack of menus & filled approx 20 cups of coffee & delivered menus & coffees to the 2 tables she stopped at after she was at our table & refilled coffees for another 2 tables & went to grab 2 trays & quickly was back to our table in less then 3 mins. The restaurant was packed so I expected a extra couple minutes wait & delivered the 4 coffees & 3 Hot Chocolates with whip cream. Refilled everyones water cup & put a extra pitcher of water on the table, condiments, & coffee pitcher for refills & apologized for the extra wait. Handed us all menus & let us know what the specials were, & explained very kindly that it's been packed for hours & asked us if we were in any rush, etc & asked if my son wanted some crayons & coloring book or paper & if we wanted anything else & if we were ready to order yet. I told her were good & not in a big hurry to give her a chance to attend to her other customers & gave her a heads up that were just order in approx 20 mins. I really loved the homemade whipped cream on my hot Chocolate & the 3 of us were impressed & enjoyed our hot chocolates while the other 4 were all good with their coffee. I decided to step out for a quick smoke since we had planned to relax for a while. I reentered when I was finished & the waitress was back to take our orders & asked if we all enjoyed our uot beverages & if we all were ready to order yet & yes we were. Lol. 5 of us ordered Steak & eggs made over easy with toast, pancakes, side order of bacon & stuffed hashbrowns. The other 2 ordered ham & cheese omelets with onions, peppers & mushrooms with stuffed hashbrowns & cinnamon rolls. I really loved my steak which was tender & done all the way, but still juicy which Not too many other restaurants could make a steak perfectly the way I love it. My stuffed hashbrowns were too die for & I decided to order a extra order to go for my breakfast for the next morning. Pancakes were huge & done to perfection & bacon done the way I ordered it brown & crispy no burnt. My eggs were done over easy & perfect & I was surprised that they were large & enough yoke to finish both pieces of toast without running out of yoke which is one of the main reasons why I've always enjoyed eating at Edies Restaurant. One of my pet peeves at most restaurants is they break my yolks & try to hide it under other food so out of 3 eggs I dont have enough yolks to eat 2 pieces of toast, but I never had to deal with that or never had any thing to complain about whenever I eat at Edies. I also use to eat at Edies Restaurant when it was located downtown Delano & also enjoyed working in her restaurant as well when I lived in a apartment above her restaurant. I Highly recommend The breakfasts esp stuffed hashbrowns or burgers & the Hawaiian Chicken Salad or any of her pies. I loved everything I had ever tried, but haven't tried the Chinese food there yet. I'll definently continue to keep going back to Eat At Edies Restaurant...
Read moreTerrible customer service! Placed to-go order, was told thirty minutes. Arrived about 10 minutes early, I don't mind waiting. (I would rather be a few minutes early and wait a few extra minutes for fresh food then be a few minutes late on an order done early that is just sitting 10-15 minutes.) When I talked in the waitress gave me attitude when I asked for a pick-up, and the cashier gave me attitude, too. Told me they haven't started it and that it would be 30-45 minutes. She told me to pay now, so I did. Went and waited for 45-50 minutes (I don't live in Delano so not like I could go home to waste an hour). Went in and now they say 5-10 more minutes, with more attitude again, for an order placed 1.5 hours ago. Well, about to head in again and see if they will give me my food yet or make me wait even longer...
I heard they have good food, but I might never know at this rate. Come say "hi", as I might still be sitting here in my car waiting for my order should you stop to try this place. But, no matter how good it probably isn't worth this long of wait. Thanks Edie May for...
Read moreI have not had any American food, burgers, breakfast etc. I stopped in for a lunch of Asian food. I ordered hot and spicy chicken, it should have been call sweet and mild chicken. It had zero heat to it and it had a sweet chilli sauce that was something I never would have ordered. Awful! The fried rice tasted old like it was already fried, refrigerated and either warmed in a pan or microwaved. The egg roll was nothing special but ok. No sauces were offered for the egg roll and I asked for mustard sauce that came from the fridge and was like paste. I asked for chilli oil to spice up the sweet chicken dish and that didn't help to offset the over powering sweetness.
I also ordered the fried dumplings that were ok and for, I think, 5 bucks was a good deal when you got 10 total.
I ate the dumpings and the egg roll and left the rest.
If all you want to do is fill your gut with food and you don't care about quality, it's a cheap...
