We visited on a Saturday in late June 2025 for lunch. We were about to do a kayak excursion with the Edge of Wood Outfitters just across the street and needed some food. We saw that they had some pot pies for sale here and the reviews online looked pretty good. When we stopped by we were overwhelmed by all the items in here. Everything looked SOO good! We knew we had to come back after our trip to get snacks/desserts. We ordered: - Turkey Pot Pie - Chicken Pot Pie - Shepherds Pot Pie - Chicken Fingers and Fries These were so hot and all tasted amazing! I don't know if I could pick a favorite you just couldn't go wrong. They also sell them frozen too but we were on a road trip and there was no way we could keep them frozen for that long. We came back after our kayaking excursion and ordered: - Strawberry Cloud (my wife's favorite) - Caramel Apple Cloud (my favorite) - Carrot Cake Tower (amazing carrot cake, would order again) - Key lime Square (very good flavor, would order again) - Blueberry Turnover (fresh whole blue berries, would order again) - Blueberry Lemon Cookie Sandwich (my favorite) - Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Cookie Sandwich (kid's favorite) - Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Sandwich (wife favorite) All the desserts were just amazing. We would 100% come back here again and possible go a little out of way as well just to hit this place up. We wanted to buy almost everything in the store but my wallet just couldn't do it. I don't think you can really go wrong with anything here. I'd recommend this place to all my family and friends. Especially if you're doing a water adventure with the outfitter across the street, this is a no brainer. The staff here is also super nice, patient, understanding and happy to help us out in making decisions as non-locals/tourists.

First time back at this bakery since 2003 and not much changed as far as what they sell: pies, chicken pot pies, pastry (expensive and not sure it's all made on the premises; did I mention its $4 for a peach turnover) . . . . and assorted fudge, ice cream and big cookies. Their menu for regular food is limited to hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled cheese and not much else. The inside is a ramshackle array of 50's style tables and chairs with shelves and display tables piled high with jarred specialties: honey, picked peppers, jams candles and creams. Outside there are tables of fresh fruits and local vegetables; I purchased a NJ steak tomato for $3. Their daily special to draw people is a hot dog and piece of homemade apple pie for $2.95. Just add a dip of ice cream for a special treat. * Don't forget to eat at Sangro Kura next door for truly authentic Japanese Soba / ramen noodles that are made in house, 4 assorted broths and multiple toppings for a yummy bowl of Asian goodness.

If you are here in Poconos and looking for place to get local produce/jams/ dessert or a hot sandwich / coffee ? this can be a good option. I visited this place in November and it was a good experience. They have a good collection of jams, honey, pies, freshly baked desserts and lot more if you are looking for a quick bite. The staff were super nice and helped with the selection. I tried their egg sandwich and it was delicious, the bread was freshly baked and tasted real good. I also tried their strawberry cloud in dessert and it had really fresh filling of strawberry jam and cream. The place has ample parking spots and restrooms were located outside. Limited seating was available outside. The place was accessible as it was on first floor.

I worked here for a year of my life, 2016/2017. I can’t speak for it now but when I worked there the amount of mismanagement and the way they treated their employees there was indescribable. The people who had been working there the longest, and arguably the hardest got the brunt of the bad treatment because our bosses knew if they had been there that long, they wouldn’t leave right? This is how bad the turnover rate is at the Bakery. They hired anyone who walked through the door, including junkies who lived at the sketchy motel down the street, drug problems were rampant among others who worked there during my time there. The people who actually cared about the baking and keeping the place clean, were still treated badly, because nothing was ever good enough for our bosses and everything had to be done their way or not at all, even if it was detrimental to the business. My friend slaved away in the pie room, mostly alone, for YEARS because they would not train another person, and after she quit they were lost. Think about this. Pies are their main attraction, yet they don’t bother training people to make them in case the one person they completely depend on quits?! During the Thanksgiving that I worked there, which is our busiest time of year, no overtime was given despite 12+ hour workdays. The food is good and the bosses are kind and friendly to customers, making this place seem like a dream. I do not want to name or disparage anyone but the people who run this place are not as nice to their employees as they are to you. I consistently see this place getting positive reviews and it hurts my heart because I know how much I and other people I worked with suffered there. The food is good and the location is nice, but just be aware of what people are going through there. That is all I...

UPDATE: A Ms. Holly Hamm contacted me to inform me that they are thankful for my recommendation and have updated their workflow to have the transmitters returned to a drop bin (avoiding contact with food and line cooks). She also offered me my next meal on the house for helping them. I will return. This is how it should have worked yesterday, and I hope that this experience helps everyone and keeps COVID out of the bakery.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: When I politely shared with Sue the owner that using handheld transmitters for take out orders is a COVID spreader, she got extremely upset and made angry faces. This was after I saw a gentleman in his car coughing droplets all over his transmitter right before giving it to Sue, who then directly handled lobster rolls and packages for the next customers (I watched very carefully). The lady next to me was equally concerned. I returned my order and left. You would think she would say “thank you, yes, you are correct. And we don’t wanna be the next cluster of COVID, especially with tourists and the interstate nearby.” This is a pompous establishment. I would avoid this place during difficult times of pandemic or flu season. Incidentally, I met Charlie her husband a few months back who was much more conversational, customer focused, accommodating, and intelligent. Back then I did not ask for much, but he was very sweet anyway! That’s why I used to like this place until today. As a healthcare scientist, I was trying to help, but people let their egos in the way, which can kill or sicken many people, in these...
