I probably should have snapped a photo. I haven't been here in probably close to a decade? I know the owner from back at the Hockessin store in the 80s when Mr. Casapulla was still alive. I'm having a bad time believing people have had so many negative experiences there. I decided to reward my son for taking care of the yard work today and said "let's try something different and I'll grab our cheese steaks and fries from Casapulla's." He was good with it and we loved it. I saw one poster complaining about the Provolone cheese, and I get it, we all have our own tastes, but to me, that's what gives them a unique taste. I've never had Provolone on a cheese steak anywhere else. And I've had a lot of cheese steaks in my time (way too many). My son liked it better than some of the competition we frequent, so while it's a bit more expensive, we'll probably go back. If I had one request, it would be that they work with Google however vendors work with Google, and correct the pointer to the menu. It's pointing to some off the wall place called "places.singleplatform.com" and all the prices are old. I ended up paying about $10 more than I expected, but I now see they have their own menu online, so that...
Read moreI have been eating Casapulas for many years, starting with the original in Elsmere. The 896 location is the worst. Smelled bad, bathroom was clean, go figure. But I ordered a large Italian and began eating and something was not right. I narrowed it down to the salami. It was harder than normal and taste was not right. They offered to remake, so I asked if they were going to use the same salami, she said yes! I told her then don’t bother. Then asked me if I wanted something else, so I said yes a cheese steak. She made me a small. I didn’t bother to complain after only taking two bites of the terrible sub. I guess she felt that was fair. The steak was good but very little meat. $10.55. I don’t mind paying a premium for Casapulla’s normally quality products and properly made. I will not return to this location. Please don’t let this terrible store change your mind about The other stores. Casapulla’s has always been my favorite from Elsmere to Rehoboth. Will never go back to...
Read moreI wasn’t sure if Casapula’s (Glasgow) was open during our lockdown, so I decided to call and to my delight the store was open. I place an order for pickup, and then drove to the store.
I was shocked to see that none of the 5-6 employees behind the counter were wearing masks or gloves as they prepared our sandwiches. The only person who wore gloves was the young lady at the register. There were social distancing marks on the customer side of the floor, but that’s it. There was no breath separation (plexiglass) between customer and worker. I am not quite sure what statement the ownership is trying to make, but the store is acting irresponsible and showing a lack of regard for the public given all that we now know about the contagiousness of Covid-19.
While Wawa hoagies are not quite at the level of Casapula’s, the gap is closing quickly, and Wawa has demonstrated that they care about the well being of its customers. Casapula is no longer worth the risk unless...
