Long Neck Diner — Restaurant in Delaware

We really enjoyed our time dining there. It was a lovely and peaceful atmosphere. The quality of food was EXCELLENT and DELICIOUS. The quantity of it was PLENTIFUL ~ VERY PLENTIFUL!!! In fact, we had to take a good bit home. Thank you, Long Neck Diner!

The usual 'chain store/restaurant' can't hold a candle to the quality of taste especially to the fries {oh my goodness, were they delicious}!!! NO WAY! They were awesome even eating them today ~ the day AFTER we visited The Diner. They were still good. I wish I could have those every other day. [Daily would just make me too fat]!

Our waitress, Karen, was also great. When I mentioned I THOUGHT THAT I had made an error ordering salad dressing, she went back in her tablet to look and ADMITTED that SHE had grabbed the wrong dressing. How many servers do that anymore?

She COULD have told me that I'd made the error and I would have believed her. She didn't do that. I'm quite pleased with, and proud of her ~ and I have never before seen her! This was our very first visit to that Diner. It will NOT, HOWEVER be our last!

THE ONE AND ONLY REASON I gave it four (4) 🌟 stars, rather than five (5) 🌟 is because the floor was dirty. I didn't care much for that, but that is the ONE AND ONLY REASON for my four stars rather than five.

The carpet appeared clean, but the floor under our table was dirty. I almost asked the waitress if we could have another booth when she seated us, but I didn't. I didn't want to be rude or appear too picky. It wasn't her fault that someone tracked mud in with their shoes.

When we come into the dinner for breakfast, lunch or dinner we usually get what we order and it’s good. When they make a mistake in dinner it is corrected. Take out is never successful. I specifically order the Healthy Corner Stir Fry Veggies with Shrimp and it is healthy and tastes great. Last time I did take out I ordered healthy stir fry vegetables with shrimp and received fruit and cottage cheese. Tonight again I ordered the healthy corner stir fried vegetables and shrimp and I received 2 giant servings of Cold potato salad and Coleslaw on a bed of Raw Sliced purple onion with a sliced boiled egg and Fried Shrimp on top of all of all of that. The excessive amount of raw purple onions ruined the taste of what I did receive. Although I will not stop dining in I will never do take out again. There is a huge disconnect between the person who answers the phone to take the order and the kitchen. Yep my husband picked it up and didn’t check it again but he did work all day and was exhausted. Bottom line even if you emphasize what you are ordering for take out it is a crap shoot of what you will receive. By the way Long Neck Dinner 2 pounds of cold potato salad is not healthy and nobody eats 2 pounds of coleslaw for dinner, it is only good in tiny portions. The Shrimp would have probably been good if not for the raw purple onion they were on. We have finally said we will never go back to this so called diner, in the past 6 months we have had a number of bad meals but kept saying lets try again, giving them a chance and have let them know that their food has gotten worst in the past 6 months, today we went for lunch both ordered the taco salad, well omg was the worst thing we have eaten in there yet, plus it came with a cup of potato soup, it was so thick with a broth and could taste the flour thicker and no taste what so ever, we pushed it aside and said well hopefully the taco salad will be good, wrong, was filled with nothing but lettuce and the lettuce hard core in it, no meat what so ever, when I asked the waitress where is the meat she says oh we put a scoop of chili in it so nothing but a few chili beans, are you kidding me, taco salad has ground meat not a scoop of watery chili, when I went to pay my check he says I gave you a discount, the bill was 27.98 and that was the bill no discount what so ever, when I told him that the food has really started going down he said that is your opinion, I said well you are suppose to care about your customers not yourself, and we won't be back anymore he says I don't care, I said then maybe you should close down if you don't care about your customers, I said maybe you should look at your terrible reviews online, he says he doesn't care, these people are terrible and the food is even worst, Anyone looking for a place to go stay away, worst diner, worst food, worst attitude about...
