Read moreI am from New Jersey and have family living in Maryland, whenever I drive the 95 corridor either way I have stopped here. For at least 20 years, the menu and the products have not changed one bit. It is your normal greasy spoon hot dog joint, but it is great food. Normally, I would tell you about a specific time I visited but, despite having been there so many times, I have never had a bad experience. Despite the name, the menu features things like pizza, subs, and burgers as well, however I like to stick to my go to every time of the foot long hot dog with cheese and fries.
The whole process is simple from the beginning when you walk in and sit down at the counter before placing your order with the waitress who sends it down to the grill man who is right in front of you grilling away. I enjoy that you can see the whole process right in front of you. The dogs themselves are all beef, with about 3 pieces of American cheese on them. The fries are nothing to write home about, but still tasty. Usually you are in and out in about 20 minutes. There isn't anything fancy here at all. It's a place alternative to the hustle and bustle of the truck stops on 95. The food, prices and service are great. Not on a 5 star standard, but just what you would expect out of a greasy spoon. I don't really know when I'll be in the area again, but when I do I am definitely coming by again. It is safe to say that the Dog House is Fat Kid tested Fat...
Read moreUsed to love this place. Most recent trip has shown how much it stinks now! Prices are outrageous and still I wanted to eat here but couldn’t. Rudely greeted by the counter staff not with a “Hello, welcome to The Dog House” or even “can I help you”. Counter person pointed her finger at me and yelled “ Who Are You?!?” Then after informing her I was there, at the register waiting to place an order she proceeded to ignore me and continue on. Second counter person oblivious to my existence but when another customer walked in and walked up to the counter they promptly took her order. Rude! Inconsiderate staff! And, $12 bucks for two hot dogs and a drink??? Get over yourselves. It’s a hot dog! You’re not doing anyone any favors by having a business grilling hot dogs. You should not treat your patrons who choose to spend their hard earned money to eat at your restaurant as if you are doing them a favor when you serve them and make them feel like their business means nothing when they walk into your shack! It’s the other way around and how you continue to do business like this is beyond my comprehension. Again, hot dogs? Really. Everybody makes them. YOU ARE NOTHING SPECIAL! Get over yourselves. Do everyone a favor and...
