Having lived here my whole life, I want to like Delmar Pizza, but I just can't stomach to do it any more. 25 years ago it was actually good, and I've just watched the food quality go downhill year after year. They buy the cheapest of the cheapest quality ingredients and nothing is seasoned at all. Bland, flavorless, poor quality food. I think people who give a good review either a) do so out of nostalgia, or b) if you put enough melted greasy cheese on top of something you can eat anything. Their pizza went from eh, mediocre to just awful . The cheap dollar store bread like crust has no flavor, the sauce is watered down and flavorless, and it gets worse as it cools down. The grilled chicken is sketchy and unseasoned, the chicken steak is the cheapest quality frozen sheets you can buy. At least they used to use Liscio's rolls, but the last 2 times they had some horrible soft roll. Even their fries which used to be good now aren't cooked properly (too low a temp and soak up stale grease flavor), but they sprinkle a bit of reddish powder on them but zero salt. I thought maybe the problem was takeout, but when eating in it was just as bad. They've been refilling the same nasty ketchup bottles for who knows how long (how cheap can you be), and the waitress gave me a hard time about me wanting to BUY ketchup packets (i didn't expect them for free). If you want to buy ketchup in bulk, buy squeeze bottles that are meant to be refilled and sanitized them between filling before you make someone sick! Very skimpy on the salad dressing and cheap produce used both on salad and the sub toppings. As far as dining in, they now have super cheap looking furniture that is rock hard and not even comfortable sitting, guess they trying to get people in and out as fast as possible! There was not one redeeming thing about my last in-person visit, nor my last takeout visit. No more, I've been done, but am really just done. Why be in business if you don't care about making...
Read moreCanât rate the food because I didnât get a chance to eat it! Service was not so great. My family and I were waiting for a table and my daughter had a happy meal on hand for my grandson because he doesnât eat pizza. When they finally directed us to the table the server came to take our order. My grandson was crying and a bit uncomfortable for he is a special child. I didnât think it was a problem to have his favorite meal while we ate pizza but I guess it was as we found out a bit after we sat down. Our drinks were brought to the table already. A few minutes later some other person in their uniform came to our table and in a rude way told my daughter we couldnât bring outside food while using hand gestures. I felt that was extra on her behave, felt like she had to make a point. That should have been told as we were waiting out front not when we were about 10 sitting down. And she didnât even wait for my daughter to say anything. My daughter got very upset as did I. All other customers looking on as we left. This was very embarrassing to my family and myself . They were all gather in one spot were I offered to pay for the drinks that we never touched and was told âoh donât worry about the drinks, you donât have to payâ I felt like they wanted us out the door. This was our very first time going to DELMAR PIZZA and we will never go there again. We wanted to have a nice family dinner there because I was told it was the best in Delmar and that server ruined it for us. They say its the best pizza in Delmar but I say they have the worse manners. That lady needs to get check and learn how to treat customersâŚof any race!
Truly disappointed I will never...
Read more20+ year patrons will not be coming back. From top to bottom the experience was just wrong. We waited to be seated almost 10 minutes, crowded at the door by many others as the dine in seating line kept growing. People just kept coming up and saying the host would be up soon. While dining in the bus person was literally picking up chairs and slamming them down all around us. We asked him to not do that while we were eating. He proceeded to do so anyway. Another couple also said something to the waitress about it, yet nothing changed. We were also told we missed a fight in the corner. The host last evening definitely had something going on as well as he was in a very bad mood as well as standing next to our table several times having an actual 2 way conversation with himself. We also watched the bus person start to bus a table of someone in the bathroom. The waitress stopped him, however no one said anything to this person about the fact that all the trash was piled on her food before he was told he was at the wrong table and he just took the trash off, touched her food. The lady came out and their was silverware in her drinks. We did let he know what happened. But why did the wait staff or bus person not apologize and let her know? The owner was not there but we did express concern to the manager and all he said was sorry. Nothing changed. All in all the food was fine but it was the most miserable experience dining in that we have had. The only highlight was that our waitress was nice. And they had plenty of open tables. This didn't happen because they were too busy. This was piss poor management. They...
