The new location is classier, more modern than the previous one. That's where the good points end. We were there for close to 2 hours and only 10 minutes of that was waiting for a table. They weren't busy the whole time we were there. We didn't order that much, standard beverages (no alcohol), two entrees. My partner ordered the sirloin medium well, what they got was well done. Reported it to the waitress, she talks to the manager, they order another one to be done medium well. It took about 20 minutes for that replacement steak to come out and it ended up being underdone, the manager decided to put it in as something called medium plus, an in between point between medium well and medium. The problem literally was that it was a well done steak, there was no pink in there whatsoever. My partner used the guide on their menu, why have it if it's not accurate? The fact she did that feels like gaslighting, "silly fussy customer doesn't know better" kind of thing. The replacement steak was underdone, it was medium rare. But rather than have to wait again my partner just accepted it and decided to take it home to heat it up some more.
The portions of the sides seem to have shrunk quite a bit. I ordered a side salad and the cucumber was so thin it was almost see through, the cucumber on the salads used to be pretty thick chunks. There was somewhere around 1.5 to 2 small cherry tomatoes on that salad, they were cut in half and I lost count. Hardly any french fries as a side. The plates have shrunk you can't even fit an entire rack of ribs on them without cutting them in half to serve. The price for this lackluster meal was just under $60, that is absolutely ridiculous for the quality of the food!
When we went to pay our waitress took 10 minutes to even grab the receipt with the card to pay and took another 5 minutes to bring it back to us. They were not busy and this was a Friday night! We left close to 7:30 and there was no one waiting in the lobby and there were empty tables.
I used to love Outback, but we will not be back. This so was not worth it. We can get a better meal at other steakhouses like Texas...
Read moreI'm very disappointed tonight. Our daughter with her family took her dad and I out for Father's Day dinner. The place was not packed. We had 4 adults and a 16, 13, 9, 6, and just about 2 years old at our party. We apologized up front as it may be hectic with the kids. The waitress said she clearly understood and took our drinks and appetizers' orders promptly. She had brought 1 serving of their brown bread. REALLY for a party of 9? Anyway we had asked for another which they brought later. She took our order and appeared to be very attentive. My husband pointed out he did not want grill marking or the likes on his steak. We explained to her basically just to show the meat the grill, and all would be good as he prefers it very rare. The appetizers came quite quickly. We did have to again ask her for the second brown bread again. Some other staff delivered our food, which we got through as they would ask who's dish was who's. My husband pointed out his steak was to be rare with no marking. It was what I would describe as fried in seasoning. My grandchild had ordered the filet mignon, and one side was burnt. They both had to wait to be corrected. The manager I had to assume came back with my husband's plate to ask what the problem was with it. He explained, and she told us that with their new cooking equipment, he would not be able to get it without how it was cooked. My 16 year old had to show her the burt side, and he couldn't scrape it off. She took it to get a new one. During our entire meal, the waitress only asked 1 time about refills and never cleared any dishes [even when asked]. After my daughter paid the bill, she walked away from the table as passing a co-worker she showed her the receipt copy as it was on a card, made some comments, and smirked. Even though she was not a great waitress, she was tipped 10%. I feel that was reasonable. During the meal, we had even asked for her to take a stack of dirty dishes she did not. Again, I'm definitely...
Read moreWe chose outback the day before mothers day because it's always been our go to spot for good food. This visit was nothing short of a nightmare. We waited 30 minutes for a table which was ok it was busy I get it. We got in placed our order for drinks and an appetizer. Our blooming onion was ok very greasy but not terrible. I asked for extra sauce and it never came. Our waitress asked if we were ready to order, but we needed a couple more minutes. She didn't return for 10 to 15 minutes later. We ordered and got our food almost instantly. I ordered the kingsman pasta with steak medium well and shrimp. When it arrived the steak was completely rare it was bleeding all over my noodles that were so dry and the shrimp was cold and grey... my significant other ordered the outback shrimp and the best part of his meal were the veggies. All his shrimp were undercooked and not even warm. Our waitress dropped it off and never returned I actually had to ask a host for a manager. The manager was apologetic took the food back I told her I wanted nothing to do with my dish please don't remake it. I was already sick to my stomach. They convinced my significant other that they could make his meal over, and we never seen or heard from the manager again. Our waitress showed up an additional 20 to 25 minutes later and hands us his remade order and the desert they charged us for. I ask 5 different time to 3 different people for a box for our appetizer and nobody brought us one. Very last minute our waitress noticed it was still on the table and was like oops I totally forgot. I was so mad by then I told her to forget it. We paid over $50 for two people for the nastiest meal I've ever been served. We should have saved $30 and ate at taco bell. We will not be returning which is a shame it was one of our favorite spots in lansing. Now we've both been ill since Saturday which I can only relate to all the undercooked meat we ate before realizing. Stomach issues are our...
