A really cool atmosphere and vibe with a decent selection of drink options - beer, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic. There are usually 2 or 3 food options. The stand-by is the take-out artisan pizza, which you order by calling in, waiting, and then going to find the pick up locale within the store. The other option(s) are food trucks parked just outside the greenhouse. I believe there's usually just 1 truck, but on my most recent visit there were 2. They also have bands occasionally which is nice.

Now for the downside - their convoluted drink policy. Each person must stand in line themselves to get their own drink. You cannot buy drinks for your companions. When you get to the front of the line, they scan your driver's license and sell you the beverage. You can't buy more than 1 drink at a time even though you can buy up to 3 drinks with each visit. This means that if you have 2 people in your party and the place is somewhat crowded, you have to go up one-at-a-time so you can save your seat. It can take 15-20 minutes or so to get through the line, so needless to say, you're going to have little time to actually hang out at the table with your friend(s). I understand the liability issue but literally every other place that serves alcohol has found...

This "grocery" store is a place you don't want to miss. If you can't find it here, it may not exist. I bought a quarter pound of morel mushrooms for $26 for the filet mignon we are grilling tonight. To my disappointment, they were out of cavier today, though.

There are also a multitude of amazing plants in numerous green houses waiting to be planted in your backyard. I also bought 2 Japanese skypencils and a gardenia tree for our backyard.

Gardners, you will also find an abundant assortment of gardening tools and garden sculptures for your flower beds.

When we were done shopping, we enjoyed a glass of wine and a beer while sitting at a picnic table to enjoy the fountain in the pond. There is also a small menu you can pick a specialty pizza from if you are hungry.

I love going here. But beware, Saturdays and Sundays are busy, and isles are difficult to manuver with your cart as shoppers wonder the isles with a beverage in their hands.

But . . . talk about a fun...

Horrocks Farm Market is a gem in the Lansing area! This family-owned and operated business offers a unique and fun experience you won't find anywhere else nearby.

Their fresh produce is top-notch, and I love grabbing a local beer to sip while I browse. The candy selection is dangerous (in a good way!), and their beer selection is impressive. The beer garden is a great place to relax, especially when they have live music in the greenhouse. Saturdays are definitely the time to go if you want to experience the full Horrocks vibe. It's packed with people, and let's just say there's a certain... energy in the air.🍍🔑♠️🦄 😉 If you're into that kind of thing, you'll fit right in. If not, maybe stick to weekdays.

My only minor critique is that the meat section could have a bit more variety. But overall, Horrocks is a fantastic place to shop, hang out, and enjoy the local scene.

Pro Tip: Go on a Saturday afternoon, grab a beer, and enjoy the people-watching. You won't be...

The beer garden is a very nice addition to an already great store! Really nice on a sunshiny yet breezy day. I recommend if you go, go on a weekday M-Th. It's VERY busy and congested on the weekends. We tried going two different times on a weekend and it was so busy and overwhelming we left. Had better luck going on a Monday. We ordered pizza from inside. It was pretty good but the cheese sticks were the star. Was nice to eat it with the fountain sounds in the background. The only complaint I had about the beer garden, was many people taking up the seating who didn't have beverages or food. Being that its a beer garden, its kind of intended for those customers who want to enjoy beer and / or food. There are other areas on another level, up the garden stairs that would better be suited for just sitting. Just my 2¢.

Grab a drink outside, beer, wine, or head inside to the bar with more options for ciders and beers. Lots of options for food including pizza and gelato so be sure to check out the market before you get settled. Have a seat and hang out with friends or make some new ones. The night I was there there was live music too. The outdoor area closes at 9:30 but it’s a great way to relax for an evening.
