China King — Restaurant in Deltona

Updated 12/24/23- This place is almost 4 stars for me. they have really upped their game in the past 6 months & I have repeatedly gone back & enjoyed their food. Their chicken w/ broccoli is good, eggrolls & spring rolls, and fried chicken wings are solid. I am glad that I gave them another shot because they are so close to my home. I just hope they keep up the good work and keep the current cook! China King, if you are reading this review, please improve your fried rice. It just doesn’t taste fresh and there’s not enough onions and other veggie elements in your fried rice.

PREVIOUS REVIEW- I was really hoping to like this place since it’s just 2 blocks from me, but the food has been so salty the last 2 orders and this statement is coming from someone who is not shy about using salt. The cook was a little too liberal with the soy sauce so my chicken & broccoli order was inedible. Our General Tso Chicken combination platter was ok, but generally all the food suffered from being excessively greasy. Sadly the eggroll was slightly mushy instead of crunchy probably because the eggroll was not fried at the correct temperature. Lastly, their pork & vegetable fried rice is not impressive at all. if these guys can just fix those few issues the food would be way better. For now, I just would not feel right about recommending this...

I ordered online through DoorDash. My husband and I had had a very long day and we did not want to cook. I ordered the bourbon chicken combo with chicken lo mein and he ordered the general Tso chicken combo with shrimp fried rice. The food came hot and the portion size was very generous. However, I couldn’t barely eat my food. The lo mein came darker than usual so I assumed it was because it was coated in the bourbon chicken sauce once tasting the lo mein it tasted like it was cooked in only soy sauce. It was very, very salty, I could not eat it, though I tried. The bourbon chicken didn’t have that sweetness to make it taste like a bourbon chicken and was also very salty. The chicken was a bit dry. Husband said the general tso chicken was alright. Nothing special about it, but that his shrimp fried rice was pretty good. I will say, though that the eggrolls and the Krab Rangoon’s at this place are amazing and they give a generous portion with the red sauce. I will probably order back just for the crab Rangoons and...

This was our first time ordering from China King. We used Door Dash for the delivery. We ordered Beef Fried Rice, fried dumplings, and an egg roll. The beef fried rice was horrible! The rice was stale, overcooked, mushy. The beef was fatty and some had a taste of it was most likely the last day it would be able to have been used. We had a little bit, but when I had my first taste of the bad meat, we threw the rest away. The dumplings were very good, full of pork and very tasty, thank goodness. The egg roll was okay, could be better. We really enjoy Chinese food and have tried a few of the local places since moving to Deltona. Sorry to say, we feel we will not be ordering...
