New Peking — Restaurant in Deltona

Typically love to give good reviews but was not happy at all with service we received last night and food was just ok. My family and I walked in and were the only patrons in the restaurant at the time. No signs to indicate to seat yourself or wait- so we waited. Lady with dark hair in pony tail was leaned over counter and didn’t acknowledge us. In an empty room I had to ask her “can we sit anywhere” it was almost embarrassing and we were gonna leave then but were hungry so we stayed. We weren’t really greeted-same girl took our orders and we ate it was pretty good like when we had been there before..except egg rolls were like mush. But overall food was good- but the entire time we were there the service was horrible like I truly felt like a burden to this lady and we were the only customers! At one point my daughter and I were sharing a drink due to the fact that she was too busy leaning on counter and watching something on phone or iPad. The service we received here last night was appalling! I understand everyone has a bad day and that was my mindset in the beginning but after receiving horrible service I’m not sure I will recommend this place anymore to anyone. It’s great to have good food but when the waitress truly does not make you feel good about being there or pay attention to simple details like a drink refill it’s pretty bad! Trying to find a new Chinese place since the one which was previously best in town now has new owners and took a nose dive. All of the good reviews for this place must be either fake or people with no palate to speak of. The fried rice has no flavor aside from salt, with hardly any veggies or pork to be found. The egg rolls have a different flavor than most takeout egg rolls, they are very similar to the ones you find in the frozen foods section, so most likely they are frozen and factory produced. The dumplings also seem to be frozen from a factory, they are bland and much too uniform in size and shape to be homemade. The worst offender by far was the wonton soup. The broth had a strong chlorine flavor so either it was cooked or kept in something that was cleaned with bleach and not rinsed well, or made from highly chlorinated water. Aside from the chlorine the only other discernible flavor was salt. The wontons themselves were bland with a slightly off-putting flavor. They don't even include free crispy noodles when you order soup. The lo mein, general tso, sesame chicken, and chicken teriyaki were all just ok, not good or bad. Our order would have been under $30 anywhere else but it came to $40 here. Most places give you some kind of free item when you spend more than $20, but not here. New Peking is...

This place used to be good a year ago. I know front facing employees have changed, not sure about ownership. We ordered a few months ago, poor service- answer the phone and take my order leaving the impression that I'm bothering you! Food was just ok (edible not enjoyable.) We thought it was just a one off, or so we hoped. Ordered Monday 8/12/2024, same thing with the phone, can hardly understand what she is saying let alone her vibe was as if im bothering her, no thank you or goodbye before hanging up. I pick up less than 10 minutes from ordering, both employees sat in the front watching their phone, I did get a Hello and a Thank you but still, it was weird. The food was terrible! I got the boneless spare rib combo, super dry meat and the rice was mushy. My husband got the general tso combo, same rice, chicken loaded with sauce that is wayy to spicy for the meal and the broccoli was super hard. Both eggs rolls were loaded with grease, didnt bother trying. Being a Monday evening, didn't seem busy at all but then again, this type of service/food is probably why. This place used to be packed busy previous years. We didnt eat much of the food and didnt keep the rest for leftovers as we usually do. Needless to say, we WILL NOT be visiting again!!!!!
