I have been coming here every other week or so for a while now, and the food is usually pretty good, but today the burgers were so bad I need to let them know because it’s not acceptable. I’m leaving 3 stars because I like this place, but it’s really a 1-2 star for the food.
First problem, we ordered the NM lotta burgers, one with bacon and paid the extra for the bacon. My husband’s burger had bits of pieces of maybe one slice of bacon on it? Is the man just lazy or are they out of bacon, not sure. Usually, the guy making the food is on register, not the grill so maybe this is what caused what I will say next (side note: he has a not so good attitude at times too).
Idk what this guy was doing who was working today on the grill at about 5pm, but he bagged burgers that felt cold, old and stale. The buns were dry with no mustard, no juice from the cooked patties like usual. It felt like he just took buns out of the bag and stuck a patty that had been sitting a while on a new bun because the cheese wasn’t melted, nothing was warm, why were there were so many onions? It was just so gross.
I feel that the man who came in for a pick up order and complained his order was wrong got served our fresh food and the guy at the grill just gave us trash to cut corners and get it done quick. Thanks a lot for such great quality and service. Please train staff to take the time to do things right. I hope he isn’t a manager or something cause those burgers were not good enough to...
Read moreThis place has amazing food (the breakfast burritos) but the service has always been a total mess. Especially now with the lobby closed they are just hopeless- there needs to be another phone line or a place for online orders to pick up quickly, it’s such a bad look to be able to see the runners inside doing nothing while trying to get through on the phone for fifteen minutes to just say “I’m here”. Not to mention the whole time you’re waiting on the phone your food is getting cold because it’s already ready... the Blake’s on main in Cruces at least has the runners ask people in the cars if they ordered online. The individual employees are doing their best but they are stretched too thin and the organization/flow is not helping them.
After waiting for the food to be ready, then another fifteen on the phone, our order was also wrong (swapped with the person in the car next to us). To their credit, they remade both of our orders but it was over an hour between ordering and leaving with food. Good thing we weren’t hungry or anything...
Anyway. If you call ahead, get a breakfast burrito with green chile, but if you don’t call ahead, prepare to wait.... (which has been true well before covid). Worth the wait because they’re amazing but toeing that line because the...
Read moreOkay so I had been wanting to try this place for a while, but hadn't gotten a chance to. So when I passed one on a way to a travel center and realized that it was a five or ten minute walk away I decided to give it a shot. When I got close to the building my initial thought was the place was closed, out of business. There were no cars in the parking lot no advertisement in the window. I decided I would take a couple of pictures. As I got closer I could see people inside. So I went in and order a hamburger. I am just going to be honest I have gotten better hamburgers from a vending machine. New Mexico has this strange obsession with putting hatch green chillies on everything (think I even saw a green chillie milkshake). Deciding to try something different I got the chillies on my burger. There was more chillies than anything else, it completely ruined the burger and even after scrapping them off and the tomatoes and lettuce ( which look questionable) I attempted to eat it, I ended up throwing half of it away. As I left I got the idea this place survives on weekend business. It's a place that local teens flock to on Fridays and Saturdays and perhaps on Sunday's after church a family might stop...
