Todays date 3/23 Edited from 2019-It’s not the same
Sorry I left my old review up long after it changed. It was so bad I knew i had to delete photos and edit.
Cheap food quality.
Nobody was there on a Sunday lunch hour, not a good sign.
We got ripped off… like highway robbery.
My aunt ordered a 2 meats and rice special for 15.95 for all four of us to share.
My aunt mentioned shrimp, the waitress ran off to submit the order. Didn’t ask anymore questions. I assumed the special had specific items already established since it’s so cheap.
She served us that single persons platter with 4 plastic plates but , with enough rice to serve 4 . 2 dishes had shrimp which I don’t eat so I only ate a tiny bit of one, shared between 4. More jalapeños than beef in it. Underwhelming.
I was so hungry I ordered more and paid around 15.95 separately for sesame chicken- she brought something like sweet and sour. I could see the feather pores on the meat. I didn’t complain because communication was already a headache.
The waitress brought our bill at $65 for that $15.95 meal. She charged 15.95 per person…came to around $65 . That bill didn’t include the chicken I ordered which was 15.95 without rice and paid separately.
So I was still hungry and left hangry and angry and feeling a huge loss. They’ll rob you to pay for their lack of daily business.
The Chinese waitress claims to not speak English and pretends to speak Spanish A Mexican man walked in and he translated something that made no sense. She lies that she speaks Spanish.
The menu was written on dirty paper and nothing explained as to what it was. No prices. Eventually if you make a big deal about price she will take you to the menu with prices in the back.
plastic plates which is cancerous when hot food is placed on. I had to put a napkin on it as a barrier. Plastic forks of course. And water bottles so I’m sure we were charged for the water.
will never return. the old cook for 2019 is gone It was one of the most horrible experiences EVER!!!...
Read moreI'd gotten good food from China Restaurant a couple of years ago. I was very happy with it. So I was looking forward to getting food from there again. But I had an unusual experience this week. I ordered from the OLD menu and I gave the #s of the dishes to my BF to call in and pick up. Unfortunately, they had changed the menu and the numbers of the items. I planned on getting 2 varieties of egg rolls and orange chicken. When it came home, I had 3 entrees. Their servings are huge and I'd only had one of them before. So I thought well, it's time to experiment! New tastes . I received orders of Mixed vegetables, Beef Bulogi, and Kimshee Pork Ribs. I tried the Ribs first . One taste of the sauce shocked me : it was WAY TOO SALTY! I couldn't even taste any other flavors & wasn't going to eat any more of it! Next, the Bulogi. Open up the carton and saw what looked like a greyish mass of meat. Tasted like beef spiced with something. Wasn't going to eat much of this either . I turned to the vegetables hopefully . I'd had this dish 2 years before and loved it. It had been full of stir fried, colorful, crispy veggies including peppers and onions etc. Oh no! No resemblance. This was a bowl of soupy boiled cabbage and overcooked broccoli mostly. The liquid it was cooked in had no seasoning that I could tell. NO SALT! Bleah! So I received 3 entire entrees I couldn't eat and generally like all Chinese food. And it cost me $60 Of course some of this was my own fault for using an old menu and I was ready to laugh at myself. But getting 3 meals that all were cooked so poorly tells me that something really was wrong with the cooks at this restaurant, at least on this particular night. I gave the food to a friend who stopped by. He called me later & said, " You were right about that Kimchee dish. Way too salty for...
Read moreI reviewed the China Restaurant several months ago and liked it a lot. It is now under new ownership with a new chef, Chef William, and there are not enough superlatives to do this new eatery justice. There are two places in Deming that serve Chinese cuisine. The other is fast food and cannot compare with the repast William prepares his customers.
First of all, the food is unique. I ordered the Strawberry Chicken because I had never seen it on any menu. It was wonderful. The taste was tangier than sweet and sour chicken and I definitely will order it next visit. The green onions and beef was mouthwatering. The onions snapped with freshness and the big pieces of beef were tantalizing.
My stepdaughter loved the lo mein beef. Again vegetables that were steamed to perfection. The house special fried rice was the best I have tasted since I was married to my Asian first wife. The seafood won ton soup was hot and couldn't have tasted better.
From the simple ambiance of the newly decorated dining area to the rest rooms, it was a clean restaurant. I peeked into the kitchen and it was equally clean.
I recommend the China Restaurant to anyone who enjoys authentic Chinese food that is tastefully presented...
