Pros: good coffee, good pastries, nice location, nice decor, friendly folks, live music.
Cons: no hot herbal tea options for those of us who’d prefer no caffeine late in the day. while my pastry was served on a ceramic plate my coffee was served in a cheap paper cup with a plastic lid (climate change?) for such an upscale coffee shop I expected a ceramic mug. Live music was so loud I could hardly carry on a conversation with my friend. Isn’t that a main reason to go to a coffee shop in the first place? Also for the price, I expected to be served at my table. Instead I was called up to the counter when my order was ready like I was at a fast food joint. Not cool. And when I paid (at the time I placed my order, before I even experienced the level of service) I was prompted to give a tip, which I did, expecting service that matched the establishment and their pricing. I will not tip next time since I had to be my own waiter and received my coffee in a paper cup like I was at McDonald’s.
I will return and I hope they do well as I believe dusty little Deming needs more places like this. I do hope however that they take my suggestions…especially regarding the use of disposable containers and plastic ware…. for the earth’s sake if not...
Read moreOur gourmet brunch sandwiches (Chicken Salad and Ham & Brie) at the Copper Kettle were fresh, delicious, and an excellent lunch portion size at an affordable price. The cloth napkins and dinnerware were a pleasant surprise that really gave it a classy bistro feel. The service was friendly and very quick, which fit in perfectly for the limited time we had for our lunch break. This is the lunch spot we have been waiting a long time for and is exactly the type of diversity Deming needs for a fresh, healthier, tasty option! As a coffee shop the location is great, the coffee is good and offers many coffee, tea, and espresso drink options, it’s walking distance to our jobs and many businesses, and is a relaxed and bright place to hang out, people watch, or read a book on the comfy sofa. The addition of a cafe style brunch was a genius idea and quite a perfect pairing for our already favorite coffee shop! I wish I had a photo of our plate (a beautiful presentation) but we were too excited to eat and devoured them as soon as they came out! Delicious! Thank you Copper Kettle for giving us a favorite...
Read moreWe must have hit them on an off day. A really off day. There was one older woman - with curly black hair pinned up - who was ringing up sales and handling the cash & preparing and serving. Without cleaning her hands! She went straight to pouring coffee, touching the coffee cup rims and cups lids to preparing other drinks. By the time she handed us our coffee cups it was hard to decide how to ingest our coffee. It was awful. The stale 4 pm coffee she served us was barely warm. When my friend asked for some fresh coffee to warm it up - the woman mishandled the cup again as she went to zap the coffee in the microwave. This was all blatantly gross. This woman was so unsanitary - it is still grossing me out as I type this. This place can and...
