Original New Orleans Poboy and Seafood — Restaurant in Denham Springs

We came here for the first time on Saturday around lunchtime and it won’t be our last. The food was excellent!!. I had the shrimp po boy and curly fries. The bread was that perfect New Orleans style with the flaky top and the shrimp were fresh. Don’t forget to save room for the ice cream too. Honestly the best I’ve had in ages. We were greeted by the friendliest young man at the register. He was so helpful in explaining everything when we mentioned it was our first time visiting. In an industry where you are often met with individuals that treat you as if you are inconveniencing them just by placing an order (I’m sure you’ve all experienced that) it was so nice to be met with such incredible kindness and enthusiasm. I wish I had caught his name to give him the recognition he deserves, but hopefully the owners will see this and let him know what an awesome...

It's a disgrace for this place to have "New Orleans" in their name! Being from New Orleans, I know first hand that their seafood is far from fresh! Their policy on their shrimp po-boys is 12 shrimp (6 on each side)!! I know this because I called to complain. Our other 3 "seafood" platters all had something missing from toast to salad to cold slaw. The only decent meal was the kid's chicken strip and fry combo! The food is not only disgusting, but their customer service was just as bad when I called to tell them about the errors. They told me I was lying because their worker said "they know for a fact" that everything was correct. And that's when I was told about their 12 shrimp policy. I canr say enough good things about this place. Everytime we go it reminds me of Mt weekend's In New Orleans with my great aunt ( basicly my gma) the gravy tastes exactly like hers . The atmosphere is like being in your family's kitchen on a Sunday after church. All love and great food. The customer service is on point. And never have I had someone listen to the way I like my sandwich built ( lettuce k. The bottom , tomatoes on top no pickles but u can put some juice ) they do it to perfection everytime .
