Po-Boy Express — Restaurant in Denham Springs

We had such a great experience at this po-boy spot today! We ordered a cheeseburger po-boy, a shrimp po-boy (both came with fries), a kids' hamburger meal for our son (which was the size of an adult burger!), and a chicken finger kids' meal for our daughters to share. The chicken tenders were HUGE and clearly homemade. We also couldn’t resist trying the shoestring onion rings, and they did not disappoint...or make it the whole ride home!

Tim, the gentleman who took our order and greeted us at the window, was kind and welcoming. He really added to the positive experience.

We were blown away not just by how fresh and delicious everything was, but also by how affordable it turned out to be. For a family of five to eat well, have leftovers, and still stay under $50 is nearly unheard of these days.

First time here, ordered a grilled shrimp poboy. The only thing that was good about it was the bread! First thing that turned me off was that the shrimp had not been cleaned properly! Every shrimp had a poop vein! Then they grilled the shrimp with absolute no seasoning at all! No salt no pepper! The provolone cheese that I requested was on the verge of going bad had a very tangy strong taste! Would have been a great sandwich if they had grilled a couple of slices of onion, bell pepper or just a little bit of jalapeño and some seasoning of some kind on a hot grill.( don't think the grill was hot enough to give you that grill taste) Then melt the cheese on the shrimp while hot to melt instead of putting it on as an after thought, cold. Husband had a fried shrimp boboy said his was a little better but also had poop veins not removed and needed seasoning the actual breading was nicely browned and nice crunch not over cooked. 2/24/2022 12:30 - Denham Springs - Ordered a shrimp Po-boy. The shrimp is obviously old and taste fishy. I called the restaurant to warn them their shrimp is out of date. First off, I can't understand a word the girl that answered the phone was saying. Second, the first the thing manager says is come back we'll make you a new one. If your shrimp is bad, I certainly don't want more of it. Also, I'm on my lunch break, by the time I get back to my office, I won't have time to eat. After I say this, it's just silence, like he had no idea what to do. Then I hear him talking to somebody "he say somebody gone get sick". It's a shame, I used to enjoy this place but with the massive price increase (I mean $20 for a hamburger po-boy with patties the size a McDonald's burger?) and the incompetence of the staff, I will be choosing to have...
