We have been wanting to try this place since we saw it a few weeks ago. We had heard nothing about it. We headed there Friday around 3:30. We were pleasantly surprised to see a really nice dining area as you can see in the pictures. We just assumed it was more like a fast food place. The tables are nice and shiny and there is also cushioned booth seating. Our server was very pleasant. They have a large menu that includes catfish, tilapia and shrimp available as breaded and fried or grilled. 1 of our party had fish, chicken and shrimp and the 2 others had fish and shrimp also fried. I ordered my catfish and shrimp grilled. Everyone raved about the huge fried shrimp. The fish was lightly and evenly breaded. Nothing tasted greasy at all. My grilled and slightly blackened shrimp was delicious. When I dipped my shrimp into that spicy tartar sauce, it was amazing! Everyone loved the tartar sauce. There were no leftovers of the fried fish! For sides, some had the spicy corn on the cob and they loved it. We also ordered the red beans and rice and I ordered the green beans instead of corn. My husband ordered the cole slaw. The drinks were in huge to go containers.
I thought the red cocktail sauce was perfect and spicy, however, the other 3 felt it needed to be more spicy. The beans and rice were good, but missing some spices or flavoring. I am fairly sure the beans were pinto beans, but I would order it again anyway. My husband said the coleslaw was good. My green beans had no spices, but just regular cut green beans. However, I ate all in the serving container. My grilled fish could have been a little more blackened, but was not mushy. Using the squeezed lemon juice and the delicious spicy tartar sauce, I finished off both pcs. With alll this said, the only leftovers were some chicken pcs and a fish pc because the 20 dollar hearty platter with fish, chicken, shrimp and sides was a great bargain. All 4 of us had 4 great hearty meals for 67 dollars before the tip.
I highly recommend you visit Chick O Fish yourselves! Very...
Read moreMy family's review is quite different than most of the five star reviews for this place.
We ordered a 2 piece fish with 3 shrimp combo with fries and okra. Thr review for this was that the fish was decent, the shrimp were kind of soggy, as were the fries. The hushpuppies tasted like they had been sitting out all day.
We also ordered the gumbo which came with 2 shrimp and 3 little pieces of chicken. No sausage. Mostly all rice and a very weird tangy flavor. Not a dark roux or a roux at all if you ask me.
I ordered a crab cake to go along with it and it was just ok. I prefer crab cakes that aren't deep fried.
Finally, my son ordered the chicken Philly. He hated the bread that it was served on, in both texture and taste. He said the fries were ok, despite them being somewhat soggy.
All in all, it wasn't a great experience or one that would make us order...
Read moreWas craving chicken fingers and ranch. Ordered (2) 6pc chicken fingers came with 2sides: we got red beans with rice and fries. They did not disappoint with anything. Chicken is seasoned so good , fries were tasty(not too soggy, not too crispy) and the red beans with rice were the best I've had. I dipped my last two fingers in my red beans and rice....yummy. oh and I added 3 fried shrimp...oooh wee. Delicious! PLEASE please do not change anything with the seasonings, batters, coatings or way of making anything. Keep Everything as is!!! I will DEFINITELY BE BACK!!! Oh yes and the cute friendly girl with short , curly hair was friendly and greeted me as I rounded the corner. It has enough seating inside, parking outside...
