I'm updating this review because New Owner Guy (sorry i don't know your name) was good enough to respond. My actual complaint is that since the change in management, we have gotten burnt pizzas, pizzas that did not have the right ingredients, specifically a margarita pizza with no basil, and the crust was completely different. It more closely resembled the horrible crust that every other place makes. I dont know how it's done but the crust is where the magic happens. You can't change that even subtly imo. That said, we decided to try Jonuzi's one more time because we wanted pizza and just couldn't go back to the other Round-Cheesy-Saucy-Food-Product excuse for pizza that every other place sells. We got it and it was a lot better than it had been. Not as good as before, but good enough that we'll be back. My wife got a sub and she said it was just as good as before. I hope this trend continues. Updating to three stars. I hope I can push it back to five.
This place used to be the very best pizza I have ever eaten outside of New York and until recently I was ordering from Jonuzi’s two or three times a month. However, about six months ago it was sold to a new owner who personally guaranteed me that nothing would change, they would do everything just like they had always done, etc, etc. This turned out not to be true. I’ve ordered three times since it changed hands and it went from sort of recognizable to so bad that I ordered from Pizza Hut. PIZZA HUT! The place whose pizza tastes like a circle of hot garbage is now preferable to Jonuzis. I am quite outraged and heartbroken and probably overreacting but in these times of massive upheaval, knowing that you can at least get great pizza was a small comfort. Alas, no more. Read moreThis was my family's first order from Jonuzzi's. After reading about how good the pizza was we thought we would give it a try. We ordered at 5:30 and it took a full 2 hours (and two phone calls) to get our order. My wife placed the first phone call about our order at around 6:45 which was a full hour and fifteen minutes after we had ordered. She was told that it would only be another 15-20 minutes. I did not hear the call but she felt they did not take her concerns seriously. I placed another call at around 7:15. The staff I spoke to was very nice but he said they were very busy. I understand busy but our order confirmation gave a 35 to 50 minute window for delivery. After the staff placed me on a short hold, he gave another 15-20 minute delivery window. I figured it was because it was a Friday night but we certainly did not expect the delivery to be off by more than hour over what was estimated. When the delivery driver reached our door finally he was nice but acted as though nothing was wrong. We opened the box to find the pizza broken apart. The slices had slid all over the place inside the box. The pizza had to be reheated when we got it due to the time it took to receive it. Overall, not a great experience but maybe this was just a one off. I am sure Jonuzzi's wouldn't have tons of people raving about their pizza if this was what it was like for everyone. However, it may be awhile before we choose them again and if we do, we may choose to go pick our food up rather than have it delivered.
As far as the quality of the pizza goes, it was tasty even if the experience was...
Read moreI was hosting my daughter's 22nd birthday and we had about 20 guests invited so I looked at reviews for best pizza in Denton and I am so glad I did and found Jonuzi's! I ordered 5 large pizzas (all different) and 1 gluten free pizza for my daughter and I. I am Italian and usually like to order way more food than needed but my daughter insisted that I keep it closer to the cuff this time as we have always ended up with so much left over pizza that goes to waste in the past. Not the case here!! As soon as every person took their first bite, they were saying "where is this from" and "this is so good". The pizza was being gobbled up so fast that I immediately got back on the phone and ordered 3 more! It wasn't that it wasn't enough pizza, it just wasn't enough of THIS pizza. AND the gluten free pizza was not just the best GF pizza I have ever had but maybe the best pizza I've had. The crust was crispy but not like a cracker and it was so flavorful. Will definitely be ordering next time I am in town and I think whether you are GF or want a really great pizza, you should too! The prices were very reasonable and way less than some of the more well known pizza shops in...
