Tuk-Tuk Thai Kitchen — Restaurant in Denton

We have been to eat at Khao San about 12 times before last night. They have great pineapple fried rice so we went last night for dinner. We walked in and it took almost 5 minutes to be seated because no one was in the front to seat us. There were 2 other tables seated in the restaurant. Once we got to our table we waited another 5 minutes or so to have our drink order taken and another 5 or so to get our drinks. 17 minutes from walking in until we got drinks, I know because I sent a text as we were walking in. About 25 minutes after we walked in our waitress finally took our order. She didn’t write anything down and checked the other tables and filled waters before putting our order in. The appetizer comes out and is wrong. We get some attitude when we send it back. Then the food comes out and mine is fried rice, not the pineapple fried rice I ordered. When I finally got our waitress’s attention 5 minutes later I told her it was wrong, she said that’s what you ordered pointing to my plate. My 10 year old son looks at her and says no it’s not. She picks up my plate to take it back to the kitchen. I ask to speak to the manager and she offered to comp our whole meal, not what I asked for, I simply wanted my food made correctly and 40% of our order came out wrong. About 3 minutes later my food comes back out and I knew there was not enough time to actually refire it. They simply threw cold pineapple on my plate. The reason you get pineapple fried rice is for the cooked pineapple. Again I send it back and ask for it in a box because my family was almost done eating. The box comes out and the waitress looks at me, has yet to make anything close to an apology, and says rudely “I’ve been here an hour and a half alone”. That’s not an excuse. She had 3 tables to take care of and none walked in at the same time. My food comes back out and I pick it up and leave. I was angry and we had come in 2 cars so my husband and the kids could get home and finish up their meal. I get to my car and think I should check this. It was clear they didn’t refire it and simply put it in a box. I went back in and I’ll admit I got ugly towards the waitress. I was angry and frustrated that the dinner I had been looking forward to all day was ruined and I didn’t get to eat with my family. The service has never been great here but never been disappointed in the food before. Last night both were terrible. I’ll never be back even though they have my favorite pineapple fried rice. There are enough other places in town that offer this option that I won’t give them anymore...

I called in a pick up order. The first thing I asked the man who picked up was if the money bags was wrapped in rice paper. It says so on the website but I am gluten intolerant so I wanted to double check. He said it was and I told him I was checking because I was gluten intolerant. I ordered a noodle dish and he made sure that was gluten free for me. I got my food and ate my entree which was spicy but bland and started eating my appetizer and decided to call back because it didn't seem like the money bags were wrapped in rice paper. The woman who answered told me it was not rice paper. She said it was wheat. She put the man I spoke to back on the phone and I asked for a refund. He started talking about a free appetizer next time I came in. No. I said I wanted a refund. He said I could get a refund next time I come in. NO. I told him I wanted a refund TONIGHT. I got my refund and I will not be returning. This place is just negligent. Beware if you have any food intolerances/allergies. I am furious and extremely disappointed. I have NEVER had this happen to me at any of the restaurants I have ordered from. Fix your website and...

I gave them 4 stars because of the food, not the service. Went to the Thai Kitchen to have dinner and some drinks on a Monday early evening. There were only two other tables being served. We were not given a drink menu; we had to ask for one, which, by the way, was very limited. For some reason we must have repulsed our waitress/host because she tried to give us the check the minute she set our plates down, and 3 or 4 times after that without asking if we wanted anything else, even though we had already said we would order drinks and maybe dessert. By the time we left, one of the tables was gone and the other was leaving, so why were we being pushed out the door? You would think she would want to build up the check by asking if we wanted dessert or more drinks but she just kept readjusting our bill and returning it to us. She was extremely loud and insincere and we hope not to run into her again if we decide to return. We tipped her $10 on a $58 check but she did...
