Sometimes I just need to get out of the house with my son and so we took a trip to Denton. Burger Time Machine has been on the list for a minute and I figured this was as good of a time as any being that it was about an hour of driving by itself. Interesting décor surrounded us as we walked in to see a car in the ceiling, the arcade to the right, Star Wars memorabilia everywhere, and also a billiard table. I ordered the Mac Attack, Onion Rings, and the State Fair Funnel Cake Sticks. The onion rings were fantastic! Hand-battered and crunchy. I didn’t have to fight with them at all and they were delicious. The Funnel Cake Sticks were thebomb.com! I normally can’t eat a lot of funnel cake but, with these, I never wanted to stop. I even took half home to the missus and she agreed, they were awesome (And she LOVES funnel cake). The Mac Attack was a decent sandwich. The patty was the star, flavorful and well-seared. Just juicy enough to tell you what it was. The Mac & Cheese on the burger was a little iffy and made the entire sandwich sweet, alongside the ketchup which was sweeter than normal. The bun kept it real and help everything together for me. Would I recommend driving 30 minutes for Burger Time Machine? The sandwich, yes, but not the Mac Attack, try a different burger that focuses more on the patty. The restaurant is an absolute must-visit if you’re even near Denton! 5/5 If you would like to read more reviews about DFW's amazing local burger shops, look us up on Facebook (@BurgerByteDFW) and Instagram (@BurgerByteDFW) #DFWBurgers #GoodEats #Foodie #DFWFoodie #Burger #Burgers #DallasBurger #DallasBurgers #DallasFoodie #FortWorthBurger #FortWorthBurgers #FortWorthFoodie #DFWBurger #ShopLocal #ShopDFW #SupportLocal

When I walked in I saw workers grabbing food from the freezer area including bread with no gloves on. Next my burger was made incorrectly and when I took it back to be fixed they simply scraped the sauces off and sent it back, I know this because there was visible mustard on the burger that I then had to remove with a napkin and try to enjoy it. Pictured below is the burger they sent back which was clearly microwaved and did not have a “pile of Colby jack” like the menu says, it also was not stuffed with cheese as described. Even doing that it took them 12 mins to fix my burger leaving my fries, tator tots and other burgers to get cold. The tator tots were flavorless, the only thing that was somewhat good was the fries. The inside of the restaurant was dirty in general and workers were racing around with no regard for my toddler that they almost knocked over.

Service was a little slow, but they were super friendly! I tried the Star Wars burger, which was massive! Everything was made fresh, the burger was juicy, and the tots were perfectly cooked. Really enjoyable little dive! Would 100% go back. Edit; I did return to Burger Time Machine and ordered the same burger. It was definitely not the same as my first visit. The burger didn't come with tomatoes (it's supposed to), and the patty looked to be cut in half. Still, it tasted great, and the service improved, so I don't know that I'd change the overall rating. I am going for the optimistic "everything is made fresh- no prepackaged food here" approach on this. I'll branch out and try something different next time, though, since this was rather disappointing compared to the first experience.

Where to start? Sorry, this might be a bit lengthy about our last experience last night. I will start by saying I think that I have only ever given two other bad reviews out of somewhere between 35 - 40 reviews that I have given on Google. My wife called so we could do takeout. When the young woman answered the phone my wife was told to wait and the phone was just laid on the counter. After 8 1/2 minutes we decided to just go in and eat there. We walked up to the counter and the blond girl just stared at my wife without greeting or anything. After we ordered we sat in a booth next to another family. After we had been there a while a young lady joined the family next to us and the father went and ordered what she wanted. A bit after we got our food the young lady at the next booth got her food and the father asked about the other 4 of them and the blond working said she will bring it. After a while, she came back and said there wasn't an order for them. The father showed his receipt and she was acting like she didn't believe him but said she would go put the order in. When she came back she indicated that she still couldn't find the order and hadn't put the replacement in yet because she couldn't find the original order but said she would put it in now but their order would be in to-go boxes because they were only doing takeout at this time. The father said "No" and she was condescending and said "YES". He said he wanted a refund and wanted to speak to a manager. They did not provide a manager but another employee and they had no interest in trying to make it right for this family. After the family left the blond said quite loudly "Well, their night is ruined but that isn't my problem". She almost seemed amused by the fact. At no time did the father of the family ever raise his voice or get belligerent.

This young woman has no business in the service industry or customer service. We have always enjoyed Burger Time Machine but if this is indicative of their attitude I will be sure to...

Lived in the area as a child and can't remember it, but I stopped through. I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from ordering a burger. First of all, the good: the location is cool. Right off a main strip. The atmosphere is welcoming family friendly, and I did enjoy the groovy decs. There's a quaint lil bar for the thirsty who prefers the bar feel. The waitress was friendly, and so were the cooks. You could hear and feel the good vibes of everyone who worked there! The bad: the burger I ordered was HORRIBLE. Meat was dry and had no flavor. For 1/4 burger, it didn't seem like it. The bun was just as dry and small. I do believe it was OLD. Even the toasting and butter could not distract from how nasty and dry that burger was. Received only a tidbit of lettuce, and if there were any onions, I couldn't tell. I asked for mustard and received a bare swipe of it. Almost choked on that burger, no joke. The ugly: Paid 10.65 for one small, flavorless dry burger (gratuity included). ALL their burgers were expensive! Cheapest was 8.99, and all sides SOLD SEPARATELY, and PRICEY. Ain't worth it for the small dry burgers they serve up. 1 star for the atmosphere, 1 for the good vibes, 0...
