I went in about a month ago. NEVER GOING BACK. I strongly suggest that anyone going there exercise caution. So I took my son in, he's a minor BTW. Neither of us are in a position to waste money or be taken advantage of. I'm not sure if the "staff" were aware that we were together because we went separate directions and only came together later at the register. My son found three discs of the same game. One was significantly lower priced. My son asked me if he should ask and point out the price difference and why. I said to my son to just take the less expensive one and for pay for it. He had saved a small amount to spend and the one disc fit into his budget. I stood back a way and listened. My son being the honest young man he is felt like it was right to ask. He didn't have to. So he asked if there was difference in the age or wear on the discs. The goofballs working (if you could call it that) there said that they guarantee any/all discus work properly. Then another employee came over and himmed and hawed a bit then conferred with the computer to look at inventory as best I could tell. Ultimately the alpha goofball said they would have to charge the higher price for either one. When my son asked why the goofball said that the prices increase at times. Further that they had fallen behind on updating the pricing, so take one at the higher price or don't. He couldn't care less obviously. I then conferred with my son, who had taken a lot of time to find a satisfactory game we could afford, and he of course was very disappointed; the look on his face made me sad so I paid the difference and went to our vehicle with my son. I didn't want to cause a scene with my son there inside the store. I did however go back in the store and asked alpha goofball how he felt about ripping off a young man because they were too lazy to do their jobs. I asked him if he would be man enough to refund the difference and of course that was a no-go with a sneering look and tone. I had also been interested in a used pair of headphones that they couldn't seem to agree on the selling price but eventually had come to me with a ridiculous price. They could have been had new for a few dollars more. I was treated with disdain and malice when we very well could have been returning customers with any sort of decency applied to the situation. It has always been a standard that if the retailer has a price tag for whatever amount stuck on the item, that's what you paid even if it was their mistake. I could understand if the item was of super high value and an HONEST mistake had been made. Those sad guys obviously felt they could bamboozle a younger boy to make up for their lazy approach to their jobs. I hope this review will influence some of you to never go in this Game Exchange. We never will go back no matter what. No big loss for...
Read moreI have been to several different Game X Change locations, and so far, this is the worst experience I have ever had at any Game X Change, and I recommend that you stay far, far away from this place! I was simply coming in to exchange a defective controller, and they were very condescending and rude throughout the whole ordeal with inappropriate jokes and gestures, while providing the lowest quality service you can experience in a store. To make sure I didn't have to waste time, money and gas, I had them test the controller they were going to sell to me, and that one also appeared to be defective upon testing it! How can this happen? It seems to me that they're okay with trading in defective goods, which is NOT an acceptable practice!! To pour salt on the wound, they were treating their equipment poorly by slamming in the games repeatedly into the Super Nintendo as if the games and system were mere toys, while they were testing the other controller they were going to sell to me, after nearly selling me another defective controller.
They have also applied alcohol to some of the cartridges and didn't let it dry before putting it in the same console. It was very disappointing to see, and I feel bad for any customer who was sold this console to that has been treated horribly. When it was all said and done, the employees were extremely rude by condescendingly saying that "you can take this receipt to one of our other stores if you live so far away", basically saying to not go back to their store, which is fine by me, since they don't care about their customers anyways.
This store just doesn't seem to care much about the inventory being sold, as its all dirty, with some visible damage on some of their other articles for sale. This is also the same store that sold me a terribly grimy, and somewhat corroded copy of Mega Man 2 for the NES that needed professional cleaning to get to work properly. My girlfriend had contacted corporate regarding this issue, and there was no reply back, which is such an extreme disappointment. I'm beyond disappointed with this experience, and never returning to any Game X...
Read moreIf you had asked me a couple months ago what I thought about them, I'd tell you I loved them. NOT ANYMORE. Bought a 3DS yesterday and a game, all went wonderfully. Well after going grocery shopping I finally make it home and give it a try. Find out there's no SD card in it (brand new ones come with an SD card, and the last one I bought had one, and my friends [who I recommended her to go to] had one.) OK, no big deal.
I give them a call this morning and tell the gentlemen what's going on. He is apologetic and said "I'm sure we can just give you one of the extras we have here." Ok, awesome. He goes to make sure they have one, and then comes back and says "Well, we can sell you one." Excuse me? I explain to him that brand new 3DS have an SD card, and the one I had purchased before (from this very store) had one. He says he understands and if I could hang on while he asks someone else. As he's asking someone I overhear this woman's voice (who HE identified as the new "store manager" and I use that term VERY loosely). This "manager" says "No, we shouldn't have to do that. Why can't he just buy one? It's not like they're THAT expensive."
EXCUSE ME?! It's not that I can't afford it. It's the PRINCIPLE of the matter. Now, at this point I'm mad, and yes I may have lost my temper. BUT do NOT treat me like some scum. I am a PAYING customer. So, I'm irate at this point, I demand the district managers name and number (he tells me he won't give me that information) BUT he can give me corporates number. You can BET I WILL be calling them. And I will now be taking my money back to GameStop after this little incident. Completely ridiculous. I will NEVER step foot in that godforsaken B.O. smelling...
