Denver Pizza Company has the most amazing pizza - my favorite in the whole city. But last week (Wednesday) I had such a bad experience with delivery and the manager's response that I don't think I'll be returning. I was having a few friends over to celebrate my birthday with casual pizza and cake. I ordered 4 large pizzas via Doordash. When the order was delivered, it was the entirely wrong order. Seems there may have been someone else with my same name and the driver got us confused. It was sort of an understandable mistake but I was disappointed that the team at the restaurant wouldn't recognize the potential for error and prepare accordingly so that the driver delivered the right orders to the right place. Lucky for the other Samantha S, she got 4 large pizzas, while all my friends and I got was her order of cheese sticks, a salad and a can of Dr. Pepper...
I know how these things work, so I called Doordash since they were the 3rd party provider, explained the situation and was advised that I would be refunded and that I should just place a new order with the same items. So I did.
I then called the restaurant directly and explained what happened - that I didn't need a refund, Doordash already took care of everything, but would it be possible for them to expedite my new order (just move it a little further up in their line of tickets) since a mistake was made and it looked like it would take over an hour for the new order to be delivered. The female manager not only didn't attempt to listen to me, but was so rude, saying they were super backed up and that they had to call Doordash. I had to explain 3 times that I had already been issued a refund, Doordash resolved the issue and asked her to look for a time stamp and see my NEW order (I've worked in several restaurants that use Doordash so I knew how to communicate to her what to look for on their tablet). She simply wouldn't hear me out - truly was not listening - despite me trying to explain that all I was asking for was to see if they could speed up my order. I even said that if the answer was no, that's fine. Just asking. She said she would call Doordash and figure it out (which really wasn't necessary at that point, but fine). 5 minutes later, I got a notification that the restaurant cancelled my order stating that they were closed. It was 7pm - they were not closed. I love their pizza, but the level of incompetence I experienced on day of celebration with friends makes me really unlikely to risk ordering from them again. I ended up ordering from a different place altogether and we didn't eat until 8pm....
Read moreNOT the one to write a bad review UNLESS it's really a bad experience. Bring a Denver native and after a year from moving from downtown and always ordering from the location on 11th which has always been awesome from the food to delivery drivers, was Not so great at this location for the first time. Same owner?! SMH. I have been a loyal customer for more than 5 years! I was really looking forward to eating from Denver Pizza Company and I must say i am VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED! I have always ordered directly from the website and was use to direct delivery drivers. Well not this location! No where on the website does it say you guys use a third party company and don't demand the delivery drivers to have a heat bag to keep the pizza hot at least warm gheesh. My wings WERE NOT correct where is my 5280 dry rub?! Just sauce on the side. My pizza for my kids and I was ice cold! I shouldn't have to put my pizza in the oven to reheat when it should have been fresh and hot. Regardless of how busy you guys are i do not feel like i was cared for as a customer. Next time I'll take the time and drive to the location on 11th because i know what to expect. This is...
Read moreI’ve spent so much money here and I will never return.
When you order online, there is the option on every pizza for “light, standard, or heavy” 5280 spices - no option for “none” so I put in the notes of my order that I didn’t want any 5280 spices, because I don’t like their weird mix of spices on standard cheese pizzas.
There is also a check box for “mt Shavano spices” and “house spices” - I left both blank / unchecked, so you would think my pizza wouldn’t have spices on it.
I got my cheese pizza and it’s covered in spices, called when I got home to get a refund because this pizza is inedible to me, and the “manager” only wanted to argue with me about “their house spices being on everything” EVEN THOUGH I told them I left the “house spices” check box unchecked.
I’ve been going here for years, I don’t like spices loaded on regular cheese pizzas, didn’t appreciate being argued with over the phone when I DIDN’T CHECK “HOUSE SPICES”
If it’s “on everything” why is it an option to check or uncheck when you...
