This is a great space, but the food and service was quite poor.
Space: Well decorated and inviting. They did a good job of creating the right ambiance. Unfortunately, things went downhill quickly from there.
Food: Among the worst quality sushi I have ever had. The spider roll was full of a jelly like substance that was supposed to be soft shelled crab. Volcano roll was a soggy mess. Spicy tuna roll looked like they bought it at a gas station, dried out and discolored. The salmon and tuna sashimi was awful - chewy, luke warm, and the taste left me questioning what my stomach was in for the rest of the night. The octopus sushi had the consistency of shoe leather. Even the ginger was suspect as it sat in a soggy, jelly like mess on the plate. Bowls of rice with non-sushi dinners was served cold as if it had been sitting for quite awhile. The chicken and steak non-sushi dinners were OK, but nothing special. In short, the sushi was so bad, we paid and left after eating less than half of our order.
Service: Very nice staff, but clearly learning. Four of us dined, and two non-sushi dinners arrived in about 20 minutes. The sushi came out in about 45 minutes. So we watched our two guests eat their dinners, then they got to watch us eat our sushi when it finally arrived. Servers left dirty plates of appetizers on table, never refilled waters without being asked, and just brought out whatever random food item was ready - often bringing us items that we did not order and were intended for other tables. Poor communication between front and back of house.
I want this place to succeed for the neighborhood, but the entire experience was disappointing. Hopefully they will learn from their soft opening and...

I was incredibly excited for a lunch sushi spot that might hit right on my budget too.
$17 decent miso, worst concept of an iceberg salad I could possess imagine, rolls very loose. Like… every piece falling apart before it arrived.
It took 30 minutes from when I marked which 2 lunch rolls I wanted to when they arrived. There were only 3 occupied tables.
The Maitre D walked quickly by me no less than 10 times. Never an attempt at eye contact.
After I’d finished the rolls, I reminded the waitress that I hadn’t received the other two parts of the lunch special.
Since this lackluster experience, I’ve leaned the Maitre D gets absolutely hammered during his shifts.
Clean it up, JP Nori. I really want to be a happy customer, and a...

We did takeout one night and just dined in person tonight. Our server Brianna was amazing! She had great recommendations and was very knowledgeable about the menu, the fish, and was able to tailor her recommendations to what we were looking for. The sushi was sssoooooo good. I legit felt high halfway through the meal, and it wasn’t just the glass of sake we were sharing. The miso soup wasn’t terribly salty, which was nice. The vibe is quiet and peaceful, with warm soft lighting and thoughtful decor throughout. The giant Buddha statue is amazing! The place is still new and still seems to be settling into the space but we will...
