This is my new favorite place on EARTH! The staff is so friendly, and warm and welcoming, just like the Brazillian people, I felt I was embraced tight when I came in. The staff helped me understand the menu and know exactly what to choose based on what I was hungry for. The pastel is INCREDIBLE. I had the chicken and cheese and the ground beef. I have to say, I've had these pastels in Brazil, both in Rio and in Sao Paulo, and the one here at Padoca is the best I've ever had. The flavor is perfect. So good I had another one! Also, they have full service coffee bar, with beautiful espresso machine and a barista who specializes in coffee drinks. I have extremely high expectations in the coffee realm, and the coffee here is excellent. Exceeded my expectations in all areas. I chose the acai bowl, because I talked to the owner Chase, and he let me know the acai is imported from Brazil and sweetened with guarana, just like it is in Brazil. This is very authentic, and I loved the bowl. It was perfect. With granola and banana, the perfect treat. Super tasty. Overall, this was an incredible experience. Great people, wonderful food, good energy and vibes, good conversation, and AUTHENTIC food and drinks, in a super muito Legal(very cool)environment. I highly recommend a stop here, and there is a park next door to take a walk before or after. See...
Read moreI wanted to love this place but I can't, unfortunately. The review is about the food. The staff is friendly although the last time I came in, the people in the kitchen were kinda loud and gossiping, I had to find somewhere else to sit to eat peacefully. So, not many choices to choose from, they're always out of something and the food is pricey. I don't understand why Brazilians like to overcharge everything. I bought 3 little things and it was $20. The flavor is a hit or miss. Some batches have good flavors, others not so much. The cheese breads are good. The chocolate-covered cakes made me throw up though. First, the cake was so thin and dry. I was hoping for a thick moist cake with just a very thin layer of chocolate on top. They must have baked it a few days ago. So, you're basically buying melted chocolate, you can't taste the cake at all, too much chocolate. It's EXTREMELY sweet, I literally threw up after the second bite, of how sweet it is. My kids had stomach pain. Like I said, I wanted to love this place and come back but I probably won't, unfortunately. Their idea is good. I hope that as they grow they will have more experience and change things...
