2025 2nd Qrtr This visit got my favorite menu item, the Meatloaf. Right off the bat, on my 1st bite, I knew there was a change. Taste was definitely not the same but, texture was, too. There were a lot (!!!) of crunchy white small pieces and, it's not onion, or so I think. Hubby still had breakfast food, pancakes, another favorite of ours. Thankfully, it's still the same delicious pancakes. (To-go pancakes was a given.) So, still rating it overall 5⭐ but, so disappointed with the meatloaf.
2024 There were 7 of us, occupying 2 separate booths. The Mgr., who, I will and must commend for his graciousness, wit AND humor, made our lunch 👍
Orders: Club Sandwich Meatloaf 1-Meat Meal set Chicken Fried Chicken 2 other types of sandwiches
Except for the BBQ ribs (1-meat meal set), which was tough and dry, all others, including myself, give our 👍.
Shane, our server, was 5-⭐ in providing us with his excellent service.
As we arrived around 11am, we still got seated immediately but, have to caution about how this diner is a clear favorite and gets really busy.
2023 Visit Mid-afternoon, no wait.
Had : 2-meat BBQ opted for the sausage & ribs (sides were beans & coleslaw)
Pancakes
The BBQ meal portion was enough for 2. I loved the sausage, and the ribs, tender and tasted even better with the sauce.
Still a 5 rating for the food, service and ambiance.
FREE parking.
Initial Review: Weekend, late afternoon visit and though not full, had quite a number of diners.
The ambiance is old-school diner with the black and white checkerboard tiles, bright color-covered chrome chairs, turnstile bar chairs and other diner-decor. Personally, I like it.
The menu was varied that I had difficulty choosing but, eventually settled on the Hot Roast Beef and a bowl of Green Chili soup (very delicious AND with a kick to it, too!). Loved both of it and they do not scrimp on the meat/beef portion.
My husband had the Patty Melt with fries. He loved both!
Have to make special mention of the fries. I eat them but would not say, crave them every time as a side. This fries though is something I can get hooked on and even now am looking forward to ordering them on our next visit (soon!). Truly one of my top 2 french fries!
Menu had bbq items (available while supply last).
Service was quick and friendly. No complaints.
Free parking available.
Now, we wonder why we have waited to come here when we have passed thru for maaaaany years on the way to and from the airport. We will definitely be coming back.
UPDATE: Feb 2020
Dinner visit and had : An order of their French Fries (see previous review above). 2-meat BBQ meal (chose the Ribs and the Brisket) with Coleslaw and Baked Beans as sides. Hubby got the Meatloaf. Meatloaf - thumbs up / the BBQ sadly was only average for me.
Service was again, good.
One thing noted on this visit: Parking area at the back is VERY DARK at night and beware of a DEEP HOLE that could do some damage to your car if you are not paying attention. I hope that the responsible party add some light to this area.
Will definitely be...
Read moreMy son and I went while we were on a mini vacation. I ordered the burger (I think it’s called Santa Fe, it had green chiles which I was excited about trying.
This place and their cooks don’t care about CROSS CONTAMINATION AT ALL!
I got a burger that was pink and I specifically said I wanted it well done when the server asked me. I took a bite and immediately noticed the meat was raw—to my taste— so then a cook took it back and said they would have it re-made. Well I guess they are trying to cut cost, because they put my burger patty back on the grill where everyone else’s food is cooked AFTER I had taken a bite. When I got it back the cook straight up lied to my face and said he cut the burger in half to make sure it was cooked all the way. Like NO—he did no such thing because it still had the same bite I had taken. AND I WAS THE ONE WHO CUT IT IN HALF AFTER THE FIRST BITE!
When my burger was “re-made” they added cold bacon. I told the server the bacon was cold and instead of apologizing she said “we’re very busy on Sundays” and she charged me $6 for raw bacon.
The coffee was terrible it tasted like they had never washed the pot. The fries are all frozen so nothing special. I ordered the sweet potato fries, they tasted like they would taste at most places.
My son did like his chicken and waffles though. He said the waffles were soft.
The restrooms were dirty, and it doesn’t look like they’ve ever been deep cleaned.
The wait was about 25. If you have a somewhat developed palate do NOT go here you will be very dissatisfied and disappointed. If you are ok with basic food give it a try, but I don’t recommend it and know that your food may be cooked close to someone else’s mouth and saliva.
The prices are ok, but you get what you pay for…...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place, that's why I went multiple times before giving this review. Here goes.
I took my family to this place and we sat outside, my wife was stung by a wasp. It's fine, its understandable being outside, whatever, but the manager acted like it was our fault and like we were trying to scam them or something, nothing like that but some compassion would be nice. Whatever we paid the bill and left.
Continuing with the service side, we went there tonight and ordered online to go. Upon arrival we were being completely ignored as we sat at the bar. A lady came in after us and one of the male servers went out of his way to help her, despite someone already helping her. He walked past us 6 times without even a glance. Then another server finally came from the back and helped us. The server mentioned above cashed us out without a word, no thank you, do you need anything else? Nothing.
Now on to the food. It is mostly good with some exceptions. The breaded items such as tenders and onion rings are very bland, no seasoning in the batter or flour whatsoever. The tots for kids are like bricks, shaped like legos but with equal texture. Some of the meats are very fatty and grissly, but the flavor is there.
Overall 2/5 The service is what brought down the score the most but the...
