I visited this establishment for a late lunch. (I was early for my flight).
The Denvet airport was between flights so the gate area was quiet. I walked in to the restaraunt was greated by the friendly hostess and was seated at a clear counter in the back of the restaraunt overlooking the planes.
There were numerous empty tables in the restaraunt during this time with a few people on laptops nursing drinks at the bar along with a handful of diners.
I ordered drinks when suddenly I received a call from my son, and began chatting with him while I broused the menu.
The female server would step next to me and SHOUT "ARE YOU READY TO ORDER?!" Her declatation was unnerving!
The conversation with my son was important, recognizing that I had been on a business trip for a week and he needed guidance on a matter
Within a 10 minute window the female server had become SO AGGRESSIVE in her tone and volumed inquiries I asked if she would like me to pay for my drink and leave to finish the telephone call... the server just stood there looking at me and then abruptly ealked away.
I had intended to order dinner but decided I was not interested in the female server's aggressive posture.
I finished the last moments of my discusdion with my child, walked over to the bar and paid for the unsweetened ice tea.
As I exited the restaraunt, I once again glanced around at the open tables, the bar with the laptops ajar, and the couples lounging in quiet discussions.
Perhaps restaraunt owners (in an airport setting) believe having a captive audience warrants such peculiar behavior from its staff.
Based upon former reviews, the optics this expetience yields - does pose serious questions for...
Read moreI went here to eat during a long layover that I had at the Colorado airport. My waitress was kind. And I noticed that the restaurant was very busy. So I was patient while waiting to get service. The waitress came over and I placed my order. After my food came and I decided to eat a bit of it, I decided that I wanted an alcoholic drink. I ordered a drink from the waitress and she asked to see my ID which I was happy to give. She looked at it and said that she had to take it to the back to run it under an ID scanner. After about 15 minutes the waitress comes back and says that her manager won't accept my ID. This was surprising to me since I had to use the ID to even enter into the airport and get on a plane in the first place. It was a Tennessee ID and it's only the ID, not a driver's license as I do not drive. I do fly frequently. I politely explained to her that I was 37 years old and I used the same valid state issued ID to even enter into this part of the airport legally. It's just really weird to me that they didn't give me a drink even though I had all of the valid information to have one. I'm assuming that they were just too busy with customers at the time and couldn't be bothered to check to see if it was actually legit. I've never had this happen before in any other establishment. Still tipped the waitress well since she provided a service. Probably won't go back to save them the trouble. I don't wish to give the waitresses name because I do not want her to get in trouble. And her service personally was not the issue as she was only doing what she was told. But not letting an adult that's of legal age have a drink before they catch their flight is kind...
Read moreI just walked out of the Que Bueno at DIA after being treated quite poorly by a bit of a snarky bartender. I have routinely come into Que Bueno many times in the past as I travel almost weekly while flying United in/out of Denver. I sat down at the bar and waited for almost 10 minutes while the bartender didn't even acknowledged my presence. He finally came over to me and I told him I wanted a Diet Coke and a burrito. He then told me that I need to order an alcoholic beverage if I was sitting at the bar. I told him that I didn't want a beer today and then asked him again for a Diet Coke and a burrito. He told me that I had to sit in the dining room. My next statement was, "so, I need to move for me to be served what I want". He said yes, Ironically, I was at Que Bueno just two weeks ago, I sat at the same bar and ordered a Diet Coke and a burrito and no one told me I had to sit in the dining room. I asked him why they changed the rules and he said it's been that way for 5 years. Again, I've sat at the bar many times. Sometimes I ordered a beer and sometimes I ordered a Diet Coke. Never have I been told I had to move. So....I walked out as there were no tables in the dining room and I wasn't going to be put into a situation because the bartender wouldn't serve me what I wanted to order. Unfortunately, due to this bartender's abrupt and somewhat snarky response to me, they've lost me as a customer. In addition, I don't know how a restaurant can have such a restrictive rule. By the way, half of the bar stools were empty. Stupid business policies lead to stupid...
