This morning I opted to try breakfast at Modern Market, and I very glad I did! Choosing this establishment was based on their listing a Priority Pass affiliate. However, it turns out that Modern Market had to drop this option due to issues with Priority Pass. (I don’t blame them - especially after learning ALL the restaurants at the Denver Intl Airport have dropped them due to non-payment)

nevertheless, the manager Roberto Chaun made things right and his service recovery is exemplary.

As I waited for my food, I was able to observe Roberto’s interactions with customers and team. He was engaging, personable, motivating and genuine. As a manager myself, I was impressed with his leadership.

My thoughts on the food - it was fresh, hot and very tasty. I got the breakfast bacon/egg/cheese sandwich and found the bun to be almost of artisan quality. My wife got the market scramble. As a vegetarian, options are often limited while traveling, but she raved on the quality of the meal and was appreciative of the fresh veggies.

You won’t be disappointed with breakfast at Modern Market. You will be surprised that compared to other options, it is as reasonable as any place here. Breakfast entrees are about $10, and the coffee ranks up there with Starbucks for half the price

Thanks again to Roberto - he has earned our...

I had a layover in Denver and was wondering what to eat for dinner there, and saw there was a Modern Market. This had to happen!

I ordered the small Thai Coconut Salad Bowl (roasted chicken with mixed greens, sweet potato, toasted coconut, cucumber, pickled onion, cilantro, toasted peanuts, and a peanut mango dressing) with extra chicken on the side. This combination was just amazing! That crunch from the peanuts and toasted coconut was really good, chicken fresh and juicy, and a good amount of greens too. Barely any sweet potato though. Most important part, the dressing. It was just such a dreamy one!

I even packed an extra for my boyfriend (to where I was headed).

And then also packed a Gaucho Bowl (steak, quinoa, corn, black beans, pickled onion, tomatillo salsa, cotija cheese) to go for lunch the next day. The steak was a bit old when I had it, but it looked just perfect when I got the order. As for the bowl itself, it had a really good flavor. I don't know what it was, but it was good! I really wish it came with greens though coz it just felt like too much grain. I added spinach and cauliflower rice to it to get some veggies and it turned out...

I’m going to rate their food, because I think that’s what people would be most interested in. This is one of my favorite places to eat at in DIA. My husband and I usually order the same thing each time, their delicious Chipotle steak sandwich. I sometimes order it just before I board my flight so I can have a better meal on my trip instead of the nasty inflight meals they serve on the plane. It’s so good, I’m kind of dreaming about it right now! The service however is unfortunately lacking. I guess that goes for most of the food places at airports though. I wish they would all have friendlier faces working at their counters instead of the mean, rude people at the cash registers. The manager at this Modern Market is even rude, let alone other employees. I get that it’s a busy airport setting with long lines and tons of customers, but I think that should be more of a reason to be nicer to people who are mostly tired, hungry travelers away from home who would appreciate nicer faces on...

So bad in every way. Ordered a sausage breakfast sandwich. First thing that turns me off is that they're dispensing *everything* in plastic containers, including sandwiches (seriously why not paper?). Opened box and sandwich, and felt the disappointment wash over me. First, the ciabatta roll is HUGE. it's way way too much bread, and I love bread - especially ciabatta. It also wasn't toasted at all. It was just this warm undercooked doughy mess. The other is that the sausage patty is offensively tiny, especially compared to the size of the bread. This tiny little disc didn't even cover half of the sandwich. The pic doesn't do it justice; it's even smaller than it looks. It would be funny if I hadn't spent money on it. Taste-wise it was also bad. Tossed one piece of the ciabatta roll, tried to eat open-faced. Got about 3 bites in before giving up and tossing it. -10/10, barf.

As others have mentioned you probably don't come here for the service. They aren't super smiley, they don't prep the food particularly fast, and the person at the register doesn't really care if you want a modification. And I don't care either. For less than 15 bucks you can get a legitimate meal where you don't feel like trash after. I mean look at this salad- it doesn't even look like airport food. The steak and potatoes were warm. The greens were fresh. It was good even rated independently of the context. If you skip this place because people are (legitimately) complaining about service, you are making a mistake. It's thirty seconds of impersonal interaction and you get a way better meal than any other medium-fast food place.
