I've been to about four locations but this one's definitely the cutest one! Pink bar counter, disco balls! Colors poppin' everywhere! I love colors!
Yesterday Snarf's chose this location to start the celebration Carnival of Santiago de Cuba. Offered for a limited time from July 26-Sept 2! The Cubano Sandwich is their most popular limited-time specialty sandwich. I was lucky to be invited.
This popular sandwich is piled high with slow roasted pork that is ordered locally and prepared in house, smoked ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard on their famous "toasty on the outside, doughy on the inside" bread. That bread... from Blue Point bakery... I've heard so many good things about them from Jimmy the owner of Snarf's himself!
Snarf's Cuban sandwich was created by owner Jimmy Seidel, who creates every sandwich they offer. The Cubano sandwich presented a challenge for Jimmy to create a masterpiece. Jimmy took the challenge, and the result is pure magic, but only through September 2. "We make the best sandwiches you've ever had," Seidel says. "I am single-minded in my pursuit of the wow factor and diligent about quality."
$2 off August 23 to celebrate Cuban Sandwich Day!
Meeting Jimmy and his team is definitely one of the highlights of my day yesterday. He's awesome and is a true foodie! Down to earth.
The rest of the sandwiches were amazing. Since they're made to order it's always fresh when it ends up in your hands. You're gluten free? Just let them know.
Their Cuba Libre drink. I'll get this again. The mojito? Yes!!
More growth for Snarf's. They have plans in the works to open another shop off Federal Blvd and one Silverthorne. They also recently opened one in Terminal A at the DIA.
Tips: they cater. Sandwich platters to brown bag lunches to large salads. They cater to any occasion.
The Snarf's at 1490 Broadway was selected for a community preservation award in the Re-mix category from Historic Denver for preservation and adaptive use of the Sinclair Station at...
Read moreI work about one mile away from this location and I have never had snarfs before, but from one of my co-workers they only told me how great it is. So I ordered a veggie sandwich with mushrooms, artichoke, avocado, tomatoes, mustard, sprouts and no cheese. I got the 12" along with classic lays chips and an Arizona green tea. I was a little surprised my order came out to be $16. But if it was worth it, price wouldn't be too much of an issue. After waiting 1 hour for delivery my sandwich arrived..half the veggies I ordered were absent and there was provolone cheese. No mushrooms no artichoke..both of which cost extra. Also, I don't eat cheese. Im extremely sensitive and it usually leaves me totally sick feeling if consumed. Which is why I specified no cheese, and not like it could be peeled off its melted right into the bread! When I called back to let them know my order was wrong the gentleman I spoke with said, "Oh yeah, I remember taking your order! You did get all that." And when I said it's a little frustrating to pay $16 for an order I didn't even ask for pretty much he said, "Yeah I can see that.....maybe we will give you a free drink next time you come in. There's nothing that can be done over the phone." A free drink? A free dollar drink for my whole $16 meal which I paid extra for most of which wasn't even included. There's nothing that can be done? The least they could do was handle this with some understanding and decency. $16 is a lot for just classic lays chips and an Arizona Ice tea. I don't write Google reviews often as I do not like to make a fuss over little things, but I will for sure not be returning to snarfs. Not even for my complementary 'drink' and I will be sure to let my fellow co-workers and customers...
Read moreThe sandwiches here were really good, but in the future I probably would not go to this location. The cashier who took our order seemed annoyed from the get go, and because I had never been to Snarf’s, I wasn’t sure what toppings were available and she was very short and snapped at me for asking if they have black olives. After I placed my order, the cashier just gestured at the credit card machine and said nothing. When I paid, I didn’t even see an option to tip and she didn’t ask. I might have missed it because I felt very rushed, but I wasn’t prompted to choose a tip at any point, which is normally how you’d enter it. The cashier then sarcastically told me “thanks for the tip.”
When they called my name for my order the girl who handed it to me was super rude, too. My friend had ordered right after me so we thought her order would be up next. The second girl started calling out a name, which no one responded to, so my friend went to make sure she hadn’t missed her name being called. The order being called out was her order, and she asked if they had called her name, which she reminded them of. The girl who had been calling out names was extremely rude and told my friend that she had been yelling her name, which she hadn’t been. Instead of just acknowledging she called the wrong name, she just insisted she’d said the correct name all along. The whole thing just felt pretty weird and awkward, like everyone working was mad we were there. The food was good, but I hope the people are friendlier at the other locations, because I don’t think I’d go back...
