The Radiator — Restaurant in Denver

I ordered a toasted 'everything bagel' with a smear and a bottle of water, and sat down and waited. About 5 minutes later the guy yells my name and tries to hand me a plain toasted bagel. I said, "that’s not mine," and pointed to the everything bagel sitting next to it. “That’s mine." He said "no that’s someone else’s, sit down I’ll make you a new one." Five minutes later he yells my name and then starts digging in the cash register, handing me two dollars and a few coins, saying, “I told you we were out of those." I said “What? Wen did you tell me that?” I was very confused about why he handed me the cash (which was only about half what he owed me), as I paid with a card. I said, "ok I’ll just order something else then." I was stunned but still very hungry. He just sighed really loud, shaking his head while turning to stare at the cash register like I was requesting something outrageous. Apparently, they ran out of everything bagels right after I ordered and instead of being honest about it he just made me a regular bagel thinking I wouldn't notice I suppose. I glanced around the room and half the people there were watching. I was a little shocked, uncomfortable and hungry, and although I never visited The Radiator I will certainly never go back. Also, I think the guy was talking to me like he thought I was a moron, but fudge that place, their are better...

This place is amazing as long as you utilize it as a hangout and drinks place only. There aren’t very many places in the area where you can get coffee after 5pm unless you’re still a Starbucks fan.

Chips & salsa: The salsa is just Pace. If they’re not going to make it fresh, I wish they would at least buy something yummy and localish. This is Denver - Pace ain’t it. Chips are out of a bag, which is fine. Just a heads up if you’re expecting something else.

Lunch sandwiches: Edible, but they’re priced like a dedicated sandwich shop. The (lack of) attention to detail, ingredients, and size just doesn’t pass muster for the price. Also, one time the buzzer they handed me didn’t go off and no one bothered to come looking for me (fair enough), so my sandwich sat at the counter for 30 minutes. I saw other people who ordered after me having their food brought to their tables (why’d I get the buzzer?) which is what prompted me to go check and see if the sandwich sitting at the counter was mine. When I explained it didn’t go off, I was met with silence. Weird.

However, the atmosphere can’t be beat. They have every kind of seating imaginable and the patio is huge. I’ve never had a below-stellar interaction with the people working the happy hour shift. Lots of beer & cocktail options + coffee & tea if you’re not...

Cute place with a pet-friendly large turfed outdoor area with small tables and picnic tables. There is a play set for kids which was nice. Plenty of indoor seating as well. Menu was small and a few things I asked about were out of stock - they were out of bagels and soup. I got the lox bagel, but since they didn't any any bagels I got it on sour dough. It was underwhelming unfortunately. Didnt have many capers or cream cheese or onion.. it was just lacking all-around honestly... for ~$17 it was a failure. I would not get that again. My husband got the buffalo chicken sandwich with potato salad. His meal was significantly better. The potato salad was a nice size and consistency. The sandwich was good! This place wasn't too busy but it did take a bit for the food to come out. We also got drinks: i got a large hot matcha latte which was very good.
