I had the gluten free veg pizza here a few weeks ago and it was really good. Went back and had it again and the gluten free crust was raw so I asked if they could put it back in the oven for a few more minutes. It comes back still raw. I’m hungry and everyone else at my table already finished their meal so I just eat the veggie topping. I inform our server that it’s still raw and explain that gluten free crust cooks differently and might need to be par-baked to cook evenly. I take a spoon and scoop off the raw dough. She sees and confirms that it is indeed raw. She comes back with the check and tells us the kitchen said it was fully cooked. Me and others sitting at the table are dumbfounded because we all saw the gummy goo that came off the crust was not cooked a few minutes earlier. I ask her to clarify and she says that it was cooked on the bottom and it’s “just wet from the veggies”. She totally denied that it was raw. It was really strange, ridiculous, and surprising because we didn’t ask for anything, I just wanted to let them know the pizza was raw and I was disappointed because last time it was good. The crust was cooked on the bottom and edges but was completely raw under the sauce and toppings. The moisture of the sauces and toppings prevent it from cooking thoroughly. Gluten free crust sometimes needs to be par-baked, otherwise, the crust will cook unevenly. They still charged us the $3 up charge for an inedible gluten free crust. It’s is a real bummer because they have gluten free crust and vegan cheese but after this insane reaction and gaslighting from the staff, I’m done...

Understaffed on a Friday night? Sheesh, if tables can't be served in less than an hour after ordering, they shouldn't be sat down. My party waited nearly 90 minites for food and 20 minutes just to order. Wait staff was obviously overworked beyond belief and kitchen was definitely feeling the heat. Management needs to fix these issues. Hire more people front and back of house or you'll keep getting complaints about the wait times.

Food was of varying deliciousness. My chicken, for example, was fabulous. The ravioli was hard (not al dente) and sauce had been reduced from how it came in the can. Pork chops were dry but sauce/pineapple was adequate.

Kitchen wouldn't have been able handle our dessert order because it was nearly 9 o'clock closing after our 2 hour ordeal.

Would I ever come again? Definitely not. I can cook a meal consistently better than this place in half the time, and I'm no chef.

2 stars for the fabulous chicken, otherwise 1 star for literally...

Reached there just before closing tonight BUT not rushed for even a second. Jessica our waitress and her lovely trainee were very accommodating and never once did we feel rushed or pressured to eat fast and leave. They both came checking on us constantly and helped us w all and any questions we had. The food was amazing even though I'm a meat eater I thoroughly enjoyed both the vegetarian tart and the vegetable stir fry with tempe. The tastes were uplifting and the medley of all the veggies and tempeh was perfect. The portions were surprisingly huge so much so that just one app and one entree between me and my wife filled us up. Luckily we even had the fortune to chat with Jessica and enjoyed our conversation thoroughly. This unassuming restaurant was an amazing gem and Denville is lucky to have such a place:) Will definately return and recommend others to come enjoy this diamond and look forward to my second...

We went to Cafe Metro for a friend's birthday and we're all blown away by the food. All of us are foodies so we had to try a few different appetizers. We got the calamari, seared tuna, and the wings. The tuna was hands down my favorite as the Sriracha aioli added a great bite. The calamari was mixed with some.hot peppers, olives, and capers which really was delicious. The wings were seasoned well, but not crispy enough for my liking. The sun dried tomato vinaigrette was so good I considered buying a container of it to take home. I had the linguine puttanesca which was as good as the appetizers, I enjoyed it immensely and still had enough for leftovers the next day. The peanut butter cheesecake cannot be missed. You need to get it. The other great part is the restaurant is BYO so you can stop and grab something to enjoy with your dinner or bring it from home! I absolutely can't wait to go back.

My friend had shrimp risotto and enjoyed it. I had the Chicken Peanut dish which was very good but my rice had 2 or 3 chunks of big hardened pieces. Its like they overcooked it and gave me that section. Service was excellent. I realized after I got home that I paid more because I used a credit card. I ran a business for over 10 years. I think accepting credit cards is part of doing business and clients shouldn’t be charged. I’ve only seen this in small mom & pop shops. My fault for not noticing as I was enjoying my friends company. In addition, the fee I was charged was almost 4%. I know card processing isn’t that expensive. I find this practice to be a bit cheesy and insulting.
