Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Derby

Really disappointed because I love Popeyes and this is the closest one to me. I have had multiple bad experiences with the service at this location, from them refusing an Uber Eats order 1 hour before closing to the insanely long waits in the drive through even when there are not many cars there. However, the spicy chicken sandwich and Cajun fries have brought me to repeatedly give this place a chance despite being seriously inconvenienced time and time again with the minimal customer service and slower than molasses wait times (mind you I spent over a decade in the food industry, some of which was in “fast food” and would have been fired over providing this level of “customer service”). Tonight I was once again punished for my optimism. I went to get 2 spicy chicken sandwiches and Cajun fries. It took almost 15 minutes just to get to the speaker to order with maybe 3 other cars in line, then I am asked to wait to order. Once I do order they tell me that it will be a ten minute wait for one of my sandwiches because they need to make more chicken which I was ok with, I don’t mind waiting a little bit for good food. Another five minutes and I get to the window and get my fries and one sandwich and they ask me to pull up and my other sandwich will be right out. I ended up waiting (with a handful of other cars) about 20 minutes before anyone even came out and they brought the car in front of me food which was still missing something. Then about 5 minutes later came back out and asked me to remind them what I was waiting for. Almost 10 minutes later I finally was brought my sandwich, which was cold. I am ok waiting a bit for good food but I spent almost an hour here today for 3 items that weren’t even given to me fresh. From now on I will just drive to Milford for Popeyes, because in less time than it takes to get an order at the Derby location I could be there and back. I wish it didn’t have to...

On occasion, I visit this location and have never had an issue until now. I order through the drive-through, and all is well until I get to the pick-up window. I asked the female employee about the picture of the mixed frozen drink that was on the drive-through menu. I asked her what was it, only for her to state that she did not know. This was mind-boggling because I expected her to know all the items on the menu. I knew what it was. It was the frozen strawberry-mango lemonade that I ordered previously. The only reason I asked was because upon placing my order, I asked for it, but only to be told that my choices were strawberry or mango. In addition to this issue, the female gave me the wrong cheesecake, which she wanted me to keep and implied that they did not have what I ordered. I told her I did not want what she gave me. She then consulted with an employee who then gave her the correct item, which she handed to me. I gladly exchanged the dessert and left. Unbeknownst to me, the dessert was frozen solid. Since I did not know this until I was at home, there was not much I could do at that point, but allow the item to thaw. ...

I love Popeyes normally but this is by far the worst one I’ve been to. Bad luck for me as it’s the closest one to my house but enough is enough. First off the customer service is non existent. That’s the nicest way I can say it. Most of the time they just ignore you and act like you don’t exist. No hello, or thanks for your order, or goodbye. Just seems like this place has no standards for the employees. They’re just there to pick up a paycheck and maybe if they feel like it they will provide you with edible food. Unfortunately the last time I got food here it wasn’t edible. The fries were rock hard and over cooked. Almost broke a tooth when I grabbed the first one without thinking. The chicken smelled burnt and tasted awful, I ate some because I was hungry but through 75% of the food away. I called Popeyes customer service number and haven’t heard back. I’m assuming they leave it up to the specific store because they are franchises which makes sense but this place clearly doesn’t care about the customer whatsoever.
