A Yelp Review of My Doordash Applebees: Exposé composed in the moment of discovery and exposition:
Looking through my very slim options on a late Sunday evening, in a town isolated from most suburban things, nothing on the simple little app in my phone stood out to me. Yet, I hadn’t eaten all day, and thus, with health and body in mind, should order something to eat anyway. Wait! Maybe I can just make myself some pasta. At least it would be hot, fresh and seasoned to perfection.
No pasta.
Maybe I could conjure together some mediocre, midwestern-mother inspired casserole of sorts? No, no, no. Nothing good in the fridge nor pantry for that either.
Okay, back to the app. The reliable, trusty, mediocre restaurant appears.
✨Applebees✨
Yes, I knew it would not be good. It would be cold, thrown together, and over priced for the dressed up cafeteria food that it is. Alas, begrudgingly, I select it. While knowing it would not be anything good enough to even be happy eating, the knowing is what felt safe.
Broccoli cheddar mac and cheese? That has to be okay, right?
It was. It was okay, and okay at best. It was of course cold, and wanting for salt, but it was exactly what I expected. As someone who does not like surprises, I would have to give this Applebee’s experience 5/5 stars, for living up to be exactly what I knew I would get.
Thank you for being reliable, Applebee’s. You never, (and are never able...
Read moreWe stopped at Applebee's in Derry, NH (8/28) on our way home from CT at 7:20, not very busy...only a few people at the bar and a few booths were occupied. We were seated right away at a booth and was waited on right away. We got our waters and placed our order for appetizers. It took a little while to get our pub pretzels but they arrived hot! The our waitress was friendly enough, just not in a hurry to get the extra napkins and plates we had requested for the appetizer we ordered. We were so hungry when we got our pretzels, we had almost finished them by the time she came back with the napkins and small plates to put them on. We then ordered chicken quesadilla salad and chicken tender salad. It took over 25 minutes to get our meal and the chicken quesadilla salad was barely warm and my crispy chicken tenders were stone cold! I was so upset that we had waited a long time for our meals (when I could see that others who were seated after us and got their meals way before we did) only to arrive cold! My husband and I often go to the Applebee's in Nashua because we always have a great dining experience there....we expected the same from this Applebee's, especially since it wasn't very busy at all and virtually empty. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with this Applebee's. Needless to say, we will never be back...
Read moreI know this is a place for frozen food being served as fresh made. I have no issue with that. What my issue is it coming out and your chicken has been cut up a lot, it looks awful, looks like a 3 yr old got a hold of a knife, and it was still COLD. None of the pieces were the same size, I wish I had taken a picture, it looked that bad. Like whoever decided to cut it has never used a knife and was using the wrong type of knife. My meal was not warm, it was cold. I should also say I ordered a ceaser salad, wait staff came back about 5 minutes later and said they were out. I guess that should have been my first clue to leave. The wait staff never checked on us, never refilled drinks, but did talk to who I think was a regional manager for a long time. Maybe they should pay more attention to paying customers and SHOW your managers your a good wait person. When they ask how the meal was and you tell them it looked awful, was cold and you are disappointed, and there is well over half left on the plate, maybe just maybe you should chat with a manager and let them know how a paying customer is upset....but, nope just handed us the bill and walked away. NEVER AGAIN! What a waste of...
