I can't give no stars? Ok. My daughter lost her ring in the bathroom. We went back to go get it, and I needed to change my baby who pooped. It was raining and it was night. We arrive at exactly 9:00. I'm just holding my infant. I try to open the door, it's locked. That's weird because they close at 9:10. Anyway, I start knocking. There are three women working. Two young girls and one large older woman. She mouths to me that they are closed. I said I know. I just need to change my child, and I wanted to know if my daughter's ring was in the bathroom because she was really upset to have lost it. The woman ignored me and went about her business. The two young girls kept giving me dirty looks as I was standing out in the rain with my 1 year old in my arms. Obviously I knew it was closed, I'm not an idiot. I desperately needed to change my child, and they weren't even supposed to be closed yet. (I also would've ordered food, since I was using their restroom. I always do.) Anyway, I saw the large woman say something to the girls, and they all hid in the backroom. Obviously they just wanted to see if they all left, if I would go away. So I didn't. I was furious by this time. I took out my phone and called them. The large woman answered. I asked her very nicely if she could look in the bathroom to see if my daughter's ring was there, and told her I need to change my infant. She said, "It's not in the bathroom. and you can't come in here because we're closed." She didn't even check the bathroom or have anyone else check. She just told me it wasn't there and wrote me off. So I was stuck out in the rain and cold with my baby with a huge smelly poop while they all did whatever they were doing. I don't know who Papa Gino's employs, but obviously they aren't humane. They didn't even open the door to hear me out. I was treated like trash. I have three children who love eating (more than most) and we certainly will never go there again. I was shocked and appalled at the way I was treated. THEY WEREN'T EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE CLOSED!!!!!!! Unbelievable. I will be spreading the word about this place, and calling the manager of these selfish employees. Hopefully they get a harsh speaking to, or lose their jobs because I would hate for anyone to have to go through what I went through...
Read moreIf you haven't eaten at a Papa Gino's, you're in for a treat! This particular Papa Gino's is THE pizzeria restaurant you want to eat at. The employees are friendly and keep each other laughing and chatting. It makes for a great, light and inviting atmosphere. It's not the kind of chatty employee that's prying or disruptive, and you know what I mean.
I don't know about you, but I like that. I really enjoy watching people enjoy (or at least pretend to) what they do.
Now the food. Papa Gino's is basically a New England institution. And they keep the same top quality in their prepping and cooking process across ALL their restaurants. That's not common in a lot of those "other" chain pizza places.
Their pizza is the closest to what I'd call "the perfect pizza". They use a fantastic sauce that's got the right plum tomatoes (at least I believe it's plum tomatoes) and seasonings. It's not too sweet or too zesty but just right.
Their hot sandwiches are phenomenal. The chicken parm uses real chicken breast, not fake rubber strips like other places. The steak and cheese!!! No gnarly bits of grissel or fat chunks. It's always lean but juicy and never dry meat. They use the perfect amount of cheese and even place it in the right spot.
Now you can't come here without getting the bone-in chicken wings! Just trust me, they will become your favorite instantly. The breading isn't too heavy and fried without it being so greasy. They're perfect. I need to emphasize this point:
The food is ALWAYS hot and fresh! Especially when you eat in, of course. You can be thirty minutes late past the food being done and it will taste just like they took it out of the oven in that moment.
As you have probably figured out, I really like Papa Gino's and I certainly think this particular one is among the best restaurants in the area. But honestly, you can pick any Papa Gino's and I guarantee it will be a very...
Read moreWent to Derry, NH in hoods commons on Saturday 7pm. Very busy place. Had called in an order. Had to wait for order upon arrival which was no big deal I could see they were busy. Decided to add a salad to the order and asked if they had time to make it and was told yes. I got home and the salad consisted of just lettuce, cucumbers, and croutons needless to say it was very disappointing especially after asking if they had time. The rest of the order was great!
What was more disturbing is being asked if I want my change back when I paid. It wasn’t a penny. I said yes. I had already paid for my order when I ordered the salad so again I had to pay for it. This time he didn’t even ask if I wanted my change back (again more than a penny) he just kept it and put it in his pocket. At that point I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it and add stress to the other busy staff. I also see this as a growing trend among young staff which I don’t understand the practice and would like to understand it. But to the young cashier and others that think this is an acceptable practice that is called stealing! We all work hard for our money. It is unacceptable to ask patrons for their change. That is called pan handling and has no place in any business. If you feel you deserve a tip for doing your job than put out a tip jar and share the wealth amongst your hard working co-workers instead of selfishly slipping the money in...
