Gravity Coffee — Restaurant in Des Moines

This was one of my go to coffee stands. The mid day/evening staff is great. I have a couple favorite baristas there who know me and make my drink with love & perfection! This morning I put an online order through their app, I love this feature since it’s great with time management for work. I arrived when the app said my order was ready about 15 mins later. There was a Tesla parked out front. It looked like there was nobody on site (even though all lights and everything was on) after waiting for about 20 mins, I knocked on the window to get somebody’s attention, nobody answered. (By the way this is way past their opening time). I would usually leave in this case but I was so frustrated because I already placed and PAID for this coffee through the app and it should’ve been ready by the time I got there. Instead, I got there and waited over 25 mins for them to even make my order.

Finally, a girl in a Lexus pulled up and 2 girls arrived. They didn’t acknowledge me, apologize or say anything to me regarding the situation. Instead they made my drink with an attitude and ugly demeanor…. They didn’t even make the drink the way I ordered it...

Prices are high. Coffee is good. This is why I been coming here for 2 years, every single day. The girls are human beings! They have good and bad days like everyone else. For the most part every single girl has customer service skills and does know how to make drinks. When there's a new girl, it might take a moment to get her groove, but that's to be expected.

People love to leave bad reviews. I personally like the stand and the girls. The company/corporate itself can do better in supplying them with products and materials and set them up for success. They take a lot of the frustration that actually needs to go to the true people in charge! They don't take care of their employees to the degree I feel they should. I know I'm not alone in thinking this.

The staff is friendly, they remember orders, ask questions to try and engage with customers (rather than sounding like a robot), they're always beyond busy and I know they're working hard and getting everyone's drinks while trying to be personable with each client.

Bitterly Disappointed -- They don't listen and make whatever they want! I was so excited when they first opened up at this location, however I am bitterly disappointed. The first time I went there I asked for an oreo shake. What I received was something that was defiantly not an oreo shake. I don't know what it was! It was malty and dark like a blended coffee and there were no oreos or oreo taste. My child loved his fancy kids Italian soda, so I let it go. The second time I went I asked for an Italian soda for my son since he loved it so much last time. He was looking forward to the sprinkles, and plastic cup and lollipop it comes with. BUT! This time, he and I were both DISAPPOINTED because although I asked specifically for a kids Italian soda they gave him a regular size one without all the fanciness. I should have known when they asked me what size I wanted. I asked for the smallest size (a little confused since I asked for a kids size) and she handed my small son a 16 oz drink! THEY DON'T LISTEN! I don't encourage you going there and I certainly won't be back after this. Too bad. They had potential to be great -- especially in...
