My sister and I came to visit my mother in Des Moines and we decided we wanted Jersey Mikes for dinner.
Tonight has been my worst experience by far at any food place I have ever been to. We placed our order through the app as of 5:16pm. It said it would be ready by 5:30pm. I know it takes longer to make gluten free sandwiches because they have to clean the grill so I did not arrive until 5:45pm to pick up my food.
When I got there hardly any customers were in the store. 2 people were in line to order and 2 people were standing waiting for doordash. I ended up waiting a few moments before asking if my order was ready around 5:50pm. They checked and found it had not even been started yet and that it was quite a few tickets behind the others for the grill. I was told it would be about 10 minutes by the kid who was working the register.
The kid then went to check if he had told me correct by the guy on the grill. The guy went to check my ticket and started laughing saying, "yeah good luck with that. It's got gluten free. Its gonna be awhile."
He then proceeded to make 8 sandwiches and none of them were mine. I had doordash drivers come in after me who received there food before me. I watched the guy on the grill move tickets that were behind mine forward.
At 6:05pm I watched the guy on the grill finally start cleaning the grill. By 6:10pm he started making 2 gluten free sandwiches. And did not pay attention to the fact that #65 was not supposed to have jalepenos and yet seem to have a ton of them on the sandwich.
By 6:21pm all sandwiches were done. The manager (Jasmine) tried to hand a cookie off to me and another customer who had been waiting almost as long as me. But considering I cannot eat it nor does that make up for waiting nearly an hour from the time my food was supposed to be ready I did not want it.
The manager seemed to have a chip on her shoulder and kept throwing hateful looks towards my mother and me after we would not accept her offer. She then went back behind the counter pulled out her phone, messed with it for a bit then pulled some vouchers out. She offered us 2 of them for our 3 sandwiches. My mother thought it was more reasonable to have 3 vouchers since our order was for 3 sandwiches and the manager disagreed.
All sandwiches were put in the same bag. I specifically put special instructions on my order for the gluten free sandwiches to be put in a seperate bag. I have never had any trouble with this at any other store. The manager said, "We don't do that." I explained that I have asked at other stores and had no problem. I was then told by the manager "Well you don't have to come here. You can go to another store. And you can leave."
I feel like this was a personal attack against me due to my food allergies and I do not appreciate it. I was not asking for anything special just for the considerations that I know are in place by this company. Its normally why I love coming to...
Read moreVery bad experience for my first time going to the location. Manager Ashley was very rude went in on a Saturday about 9:38 pm to get a sandwich which was made by manager. After making my choice of what I wanted there was another person already ringing me up for my order as I stated that I wanted everything thing on my sandwich I was already paying so I didn’t not get to see what all was being put on there paid and went to my car bit into my sandwich nothin but lettuce, tomato was on there. Went back in told another employee that it was not made right manger Ashley came out told her I wanted everything on my sandwich immediately gets attitude takes a spoon and slaps mayo on it as everything fell of the sandwich I asked for another one she picks sandwich up turns around and literally throws sandwich onto counter. By that point I became angry and asked to speak with a manager she stated I am the manager. To be a manager you shouldn’t treat your customers like that is what a stated to her. I was paying 13 to 14 dollars for this sandwich not cheap at all. As she was making me another sandwich she takes it and walks in back with it that really upset me and asked for a refund and for her to leave her and a higher up manager name so I could report her as she refused at first but finally wrote it down. She kicked me and my daughter out of the store and made a threat to call the cops. I stated call and I will wait right here until they show up and tell them how I was treated by the store manager she also told my daughter to hit her. She was looking for a reason to have us arrested. That’s discrimination. Next day I called a different location to ask another manager what steps I could take to report her because I felt that her behavior needed to be know and the regional manager just so happened to be there told him what happened was promised 2 free sandwich cards telling him that it’s not about the free cards I really wanted him to know of...
Read moreI placed a pickup order at 5:16pm and app said order would be ready at 5:30pm. Arrived at 5:45pm and it took until 5:50pm to get assistance. Teenager at register stated it would take 10 minutes. He then confirmed with cook that 10 minutes was accurate. Cook looked at ticket and said with 2 gluten free sandwiches it would be a while. Grill started to be cleaned at 6:05 pm and order was started at 6:10 pm. Let me point out that while standing there waiting I watched the counter fill up with other pick up orders and people walk in put in their order and receive it while I was there. Someone obviously made a conscious decision not to fill my order in a timely manner because of the gluten free sandwiches. Jasmine attempted to give me a cookie and I refused because of allergies at 6:20pm. At 6:23pm more than an hour after my order was placed I received my order finally. My specific instructions in my order were to write names on the sandwich package and to bag the gluten free separately. Neither instruction was followed. Jasmine gave me 2 coupons for 3 sandwiches and I told her i should receive 3 because our order was due at 5:30pm. She said no and that we could leave and didn't need to return to the store. Not once did she apologize or provide an explanation. I was not happy and yelled going out the door thanks for not saying I'm sorry. I would have been happy with the 2 coupons and an apology. Jasmine lacks the skills to be a manager if she can't apologize to a customer for a decision she probably made. I feel that Jasmine was discriminatory in her actions because of the food allergies and her overall actions. Jersey Mike's as a company has practices in place to accommodate customers with food allergies but this employee seems to have decided to not provide your typical great service...
