Edited 12/12/23: Sadly, I had to change my review. The restaurant is under new ownership and there were many changes made (as would be expected). They did some nice renovations inside and the new staff is very nice and attentive. However, the menu has changed considerably (looks like a few old menu items were kept). So we tried several things to get a better idea of the changes overall. First, I thought it was a nice touch to offer fruit infused water pitchers on each table. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal was not as impressive. Very, very, disappointing to find out that not only did the crab rangoon recipe change, but it changed so much they made them sweet now. It would have been nice if they at least offered a savory one as well since that was what the original one offered and was well known for. They did have a new addition of scallion pancakes that was good, but the other appetizers were what you would expect from any basic Chinese restaurant. For entrees, we tried the Black Pepper Chicken & Hibachi Chicken. The Black Pepper Chicken was good, but the Hibachi Chicken tasted like a mix of BBQ, teriyaki, and gravy. However, they do give you a lot of food with the Hibachi option (soup, salad, spring roll, edamame, & white or fried rice….fried rice was not good). Overall, the food was not bad, but it definitely was not what we had come to love and expect. Since we have to drive about 30 mins to get there, not sure if/how often we will be back since we have other Chinese takeouts near us with very similar food. Wow!! This food is AMAZING! If you like savory crab rangoon or have never tried crab rangoon, you MUST get an order (or 2). The entree portions are generous and the food came out very hot. I got a variation on the sesame chicken (ask for Yen Ching sesame chicken) that is not breaded and is absolutely mouthwatering. The restaurant has been short staffed (sadly like all businesses these days) so the owners are serving guests, bussing tables, and helping in the kitchen. This is now our favorite Chinese restaurant and we would recommend it to everyone!

I’ve been coming here ever since I was a teenager, my parent took me here very often and I’m also very fond of this place. I heard from a friend that this place had re-opened and was so excited to order some of my favorite dishes. They had me in stupor as they had completely renovated the entire place and it looked amazing. The staff were also very nice and attentive constantly asking if everything is alright with my meal. They did have a new owner though and they changed the menu and the recipe for some of dishes though. The Mongolian Beef had always been my favorite dish and was surprised when I got it with lot of white onion inside. I’ve always had it without any white onion inside so it came off as a surprise for me and mind you that I’m not very fond of white onion. Other than that everything else about it was perfect. The beef was tender and the sauce was just like the cherry on top for the dish. Overall I had a pretty good experience here after the re-opening but I would like them to get rid of the addition of white onion in the Mongolian Beef or maybe next time I’ll just ask for it without the white onion.

I had moo goo gai pan. It was very plain. It was like if a white person cooked Chinese food. No Flavor. Like skim milk chicken. The only thing good about the moo goo gai pan was the mushrooms. Great mushrooms. As for the garlic chicken. The garlic chicken was wonderful. Great flavor, good sauce. Also very sizable and wonderful mushrooms. A larger portion of white rice would be nice. The reason I'm giving this one stars is because the price of the food was a little high for what you were getting, They did NOT have free refills on Drinks and spending $2.50 on 1 can of soda was pretty Crazy. Also the waiter Ruined my $2.50 soda, by pouring water into it. He thought it was water so he poured water into it. Even though he was the one that gave me the soda at the start of the meal. He did NOT offer to replace the soda with another, he just said "oops sorry about that" And then walked away. They do have a full bar available BUT with No Refills on regular Drinks, I can't imagine how weak there alcohol is.

We have heard good things about it lately but offering food to go for a holiday is apparently not something they should try to do ever again. No one's order was ready at the time promised and it seemed that they only started making our order after we arrived to ask about it--I saw our ticket be taken from the counter to the kitchen and then we waited an hour and a half on Christmas Eve with toddlers at home and nothing else open to even go get. The food was fine but we weren't offered even water until we were about to leave. 1 bag was ready and brought out a half hour before the other so half of the food was cold by the time we got to eat at 9:30pm. We called to order at 12pm and were told to call at 2:30pm which is when we were told 8/8:15pm. That turned into 9:20pm. Orders were being prepared completely randomly and some were incorrect. Obviously they should have stopped taking orders much, much earlier than they did and then needed to fulfill them in order. It was chaos and ruined our holiday. Really makes us miss Hunan Star even more than we...
