Snow Cone Island #5 — Restaurant in DeSoto

Would be nice if they would update the right hours online because people drive all the way to this establishment and not just myself but several others have to turn around because on there web page it will say they are open, but then they are closed.

So I decided to help not only take a photo of the hours, newer menu of what's there and what's marked off. They do sell ice. But I helped add the Summer hours to help anyone or to see the newer photos I took. May not be the best, do to the sun. But I tried.

So this place opened a yr before I moved here when I started a new school which everyone would come here. The staff back then were courteous helpful and super nice to customers.

I have not visited there too much but I thought I would start coming again but the staff both times i been by this month has been so extremly bad. I am suprised they get to keep there jobs, or maybe all just looks past that they are extremly rude, rolling there eyes if you ask what certain snow cone names you do not know.

For the most part I will good and try to find the flavors that make per say a Elmo, or even a name like Tigers blood that's common but for someone that has never had any other kind of snowcone except the normal carnival flavors like bubblegum, cherry, strawberry, grape. But I had no idea what an Elmo was myself.

The owner is amazing and has been there 17 yrs and love the ones they created. I just hope they hire more nice people.

The most recent time I went the employee was too busy talking to her employee friend in Spanish and blaring spanish music. Was so loud between the music and them non stop talking. I specifically asked for a small and a medium.

That one side is TigersBlood then one side Red Rasberry and last side Blue Rasberry. I saw the snowcones they gave other customers and it was an hr before they were closing.

But I get my medium but all flavors mixed together with it flat ontop then a full snow cone. Then the blue coconut I got had no creme in it. Was mainly ice and like a scoop of snowcone ice ontop.

But in a baby small cup. Then whole time speaking in spanish.

Just very very rude. You do not know what they are saying but I know some spanish so i knew enough to know they were complaining about previous customers, about the questions i asked about and talking in spanish about my bald spots on my head. I have stage 4 lupus nephritis in the kidneys.

But giggling staring at me and me knowing what they were saying for the most part was just awful of them plus so occupied blaring music and talking my snowcones were made wrong, sizes wrong, and I was sure to not say anything about me knowing a good amount of spanish.

But it's really rude for any customer. Then time b4 that asking about what snowcone is Elmo, what is a blue Hawaiian, what's a ect ect. Rolling eyes. I needed there help because alot of those names are probably created by owner and not on google.

Last time I went with my best friend those employees did great except they rolled there eyes and annoyed because the names of snow cones I couldn't Google to find out flavors they were so rude about me asking what 3 different names were.

I remember back at Desoto Highschool like the 2nd yr it was officially still brand new and open the staff was awesome but now its who the manager hired. The place is still just as great. I am severely disappointed in this place. I have been coming here for years!! And just recently I went stood in line for 30 mins to order which I didn’t mind about. Got to the counter and I had a 20 and they said they had no change and didn’t try to accommodate or anything. Like seriously I just stood for 30min. With no apologies! Like why wouldn’t you say exact change only. I could understand if it was a hundred or something or maybe if it was right when they opened. You gotta do better get change before you open your business for the day. This turned me off. After years of going here. And now they shave off the too so you don’t get a full icee. Just left the snowcone shop today 3/22/25 around 6:20pm, the ladies working today need training in customer service. Music is loud and inappropriate, rap music with cursing. Stood for over 2 minutes, no one said anything, even though there was a lady standing there on her phone. A 2nd young lady finally comes to the window, I say "Hello" and she just looks at me. After ordering, I got 2 of my 3 snow cones, she decides to happily help someone else(having a nice convo while I couldn't get a hello) and the lady that came after me even got her complete order before me.
