Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Detroit

Horrible service it took like 2 and half hours to get our food then we did not have no silverware no napkins. The waiter did not know the menu no boneless wings. Omg never again 8 mile Woodward. Ok please tell me why I went back to this place again omg horrible. I took my auntie out for dinner on Friday January 26, 2024 we arrived there at 4:30p.m I must say that we were greeted nicely when we walked into Applebee's but, after we was seated omg. The waiter was okay but, I just don't think we knew what he was doing because he was all over the place. He came asked us did we want something to drink we order water. Once he came by with our water he proceeded to take our order. My auntie and I ordered the all you can eat which included the endless Boneless Wings, Riblets & Shrimp for just $14.99 per person. My auntie ordered the Shrimp which she was not happy with and I ordered the Boneless wings at first and I must say the Boneless Wings tasted horrible. So I told the waiter I didn't like my food because it was just too much bread on the boneless wings so I reordered. My auntie never got her second serving until they brought my food back so mine you that was about an hour wait. I had to look for my waiter because he never return back to the table so finally when he did come back my auntie asked for the Riblets this time which was her second serving. When he brought the Riblets to the table they just warm not even HOT. So she was very disappointed she did not order nothing else. I had asked for the manager but it took him like an hour to come to our table. I explain to him what had happen and he was like what do you want me to do? He stated do you want me to just take care of it and then walk off never return we just sitting there like what is going on. So when our waiter finally came back pass our table I for a carry out. But he only brought one carry out to the table so now I am very angry at this point we sat in Applebee's from 4:40 p.m. to about 7:15 p.m. until finally Jason came over and asked me was I okay. I said OMG I am sooooo mad right now he asked me what happen I explain to him what had happen and how long we been here waiting for food and everything. He said to me I will take of you and he did just that. I would like to thank you Jason for taking care of me and my auntie he was the only one that acknowledge us. I should have follow my first mind and never came back to this place the Applebee's on 8 & Woodward. At this point I am only giving up 1 STAR and ZERO STARS for anything else. One angry customer!!!

Ok so here I go again this Applebee's is HORRIBLE the 2 female managers there is so unprofessional. I hope I the district manager contact me so I can explain how these to managers are running things. Especially serving dry pasta. I got so much to say I can't even write it all down. I call corporate but the lines are closed. Christine I believe is one of the managers there said I will give you some sauce for your dry noodles with no charge 😅. This Applebee's is the worst place ever. They need better...

So the very first time we attempted to eat here there was plastic in my food. The manager was notified and apologized then comped the entire meal. Fast forward to today (many years later). Well after some time our waitress (who was very nice) came over and before taking our drink orders she gave us bad news. This bad news was that their fryers were down and anything that needed to be fried would not be available 😳. That’s pretty much their entire menu (maybe a good 75-80%). So my son and I sat there in disbelief and trying to figure out what to do. Should we stay or go??? After all this was a birthday lunch for his 18th birthday (no birthday presentation or anything not even dessert and yes I told the waitress). So then after being told it would be a long wait time for fried food I asked if there would be any sort of discount as I noticed other customers were ordering and eating fried foods. Our waitress went to ask her manager. She returns to inform us that all of a sudden we could order fried foods again. No biggie 🤔. We ordered an appetizer of honey bbq wings (traditional), my son ordered an appetizer of boneless wings and fries. I ordered a crispy bacon chicken sandwich meal. Out comes the wings 😋 so we dug in and instantly 🤮 they were extremely overcooked and pretty much a bust. Minutes later our other food comes out. My son’s chicken was drowned in bbq sauce and disgusting 🤢. My chicken sandwich had brown lettuce and my fries were colder than a polar bears toenails. I simply informed the waitress of the situation and asked for some hot fries. The manager (or so she seemed) comes out with a plate of “fresh” fries and without compassion slides the plate at the end of the table and walks away (she seemed to have an attitude). At the risk of bothering her further, I asked for a drink refill. She brings the drink refill which tasted like straight syrup and too sweet to drink. Enough was enough. I asked for the bill notified the waitress of the poor meal and we left once I paid. This was not a good experience and it would be extremely difficult to be convinced to go back for a third time. I wish the establishment the best and hope they find their way. It is in the neighborhood and would be pleasant to eat close to home when we chose to dine out. I’m going to go on a bit of a rant here because I’m still blown away at how nice this entire establishment is lol so please bear with me. For starters, it was my grandmothers birthday and we decided to do something last minute to celebrate her and all met up at Apple bees for cake and dinner. We were under the impression that the establishment closed at 11 pm because that what Google said. You guys, we had the most sweetest, coolest, and on point server ever! Her name was Alex, I highly recommend her! Please ask for her because she is truly an experience. She goes above and beyond and has patience, her ability to handle a large party alone is amazing! She knew exactly whose food belonged to who, and didn’t forget any specifications. She really made us feel like family, the entire establishment did for that matter and in the end we knew why it’s because they all are family. I’ve never seen a group of people who love, and care for each other the way that they all do here no matter your background. My family and I got lost in conversation and laughs that we never noticed people getting up and leaving..would you guys believe that they closed at 8pm and allowed my family to just sit there and laugh together until 10:30?!. My uncle looked up and asked one of the waitresses what happened to everyone and she cooly said “oh we closed at 8” and she was soooo sweet about it. I would have been angry lol but they were sooo cool about it and we were a bit embarrassed because we did not mean to keep them there. We started packing up frantically and Alex and the staff noticed we had a cake, she then asked why didn’t we sing happy birthday?. We explained that we felt awful about keeping them there after hours and she said it was no problem and ASSISTED that we sing happy birthday and cut the cake. Shockingly The staff joined in on singing happy birthday to my grandmother as well it was the sweetest. You would have thought we rented the place out just for an exclusive dinner for her the way that they treated us. And to think that they all have children that they had to get back home to but were so patient with us says a lot. This is the type of patience that the world is missing, if we had more people like Alex the world would be a better place.
